NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - Democratic senators are seeking a federal probe of Sinclair Broadcast Group's plans to air an anti-Kerry film next week, just two weeks before the election.
A still from the movie shows a young Kerry testifying before Congress Sinclair's vice president told CNN the program is a "newsworthy event" designed to air the stories of Vietnam veterans who believe they were maligned by Kerry after he returned from the war.
Sinclair has ordered its 62 stations to air "Stolen Honor: Wounds That Never Heal" without commercials in prime time next week, just two weeks before the Nov. 2 election. Twelve of those stations are in key battleground states of Ohio, Florida, Iowa and Wisconsin. (Click here for CNN's election coverage.)
A total of 20 Democratic senators led by California Sen. Dianne Feinstein wrote a letter to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), calling for an investigation into whether Sinclair's plan to air the film is an improper use of public airwaves, said Adam Vogt, a spokesman from the senator's office.

this is so laughable....it doesnt matter how much they cry and whine, its gonna be shown!! AMEN to Sinclair and THANKS
As usual, they can dish it out but can't take it.
Funny thing is I just say a docu. on Kerry (did you know he went to Vietnam) last night on Ch. 10 PBS in Miwaukee market. Same market as 2 of these stations (18 and 24 for those in the area). They also covered Bush but only about 1/4 of the amount of time spent on Kerry for the same time period.
OK, I admit it - I didn't watch the whole thing - couldn't stomache it.
"As usual, they can dish it out but can't take it."

Yes, they can dish out LIES, but they can't take the TRUTH!!
I'm sure the demoSCUM would be fine with that. Probably would say something smarmy like "Well, the people have a right to know about this President" or "The people should be informed and as Terry McAuliffe has said it's a 'wonderful film', so it should be shown to voters".
I spoke with a candidate for the state legislature here yesterday who is a big Bush supporter too. But he says he thinks the airing of this film will backfire and hurt the GOP. I do not agree but I hope he is wrong.
Regarding F911, I was in Walgreens yesterday and DVD's of that garbage film were right next to the register. I picked up a DVD of Aladdin and then it was time for me to check out so I guess without thinking I put that back in the wrong place, right on front of the F911 DVDs. Gosh, I made such a mistake! Ha ha.
Hellllooooo!
Anyone see Fox News last night? They interviewed an executive from Sinclair who said this has been blown out of proportion:
1. They are not going to run the movie in its entirety. That was never their intent.
2. They have not even finalized the format of the show.
3. The basic plan was to show clips from the movie, have discussion with Kerry or a Kerry spokesperson, show further clips, more discussion, etc.
4. He even said, "if Kerry would appear in person, we would probably just ask him questions based on the movie and not even show it."
It seems CNN (and others who picked up the CNN version of the story) got its panties in a wad for nothing.
