Mystery Surrounds Kerry's Navy Discharge - required review by board of officers

An official Navy document on Senator Kerry's campaign Web site listed as Mr. Kerry's "Honorable Discharge from the Reserves" opens a door on a well kept secret about his military service.

The document is a form cover letter in the name of the Carter administration's secretary of the Navy, W. Graham Claytor. It describes Mr. Kerry's discharge as being subsequent to the review of "a board of officers." This in it self is unusual. There is nothing about an ordinary honorable discharge action in the Navy that requires a review by a board of officers.

Kerry cannot avoid answering questions about his discharge--if they're asked. But I guarantee if this story goes anywhere it will be ENTIRELY focused on "Is there a Bush connection to this story coming out now?"

BTTT.

It will be interesting to see what comes of this. It doesn't really tell us FReepers anything we haven't heard before and we can't get independent confirmation of any sort of discharge unless sKerry signs the 180.

Looks like he'll have to sign a form 180 now, to clear this up.

If he does, his bogus Purple Hearts will also come under attack.

He's screwed, I hope!

It does, actually. It tells us that Kerry's discharge involved a review by a board of officers, which would be highly unusual for an ordinary honorable discharge.

This is no smoking gun unless someone big in the media keeps hammering at it challenging other outlets to do the same.If only!

Bout time some of this is starting to be discussed in the Main Stream Media.

We need to freep this story all over the place.

If ANY reputable (oxymoron I know) MSM outlet, such
as Fox would air this the others woud be FORCED to
follow.

One has to admire depths of depravity the Dems have sunk
to in putting forth phony Bush ANG documents to divert attention from the REAL condeming documents in Kerry's file.

There is one odd coincidence that gives some weight to the possibility that Mr. Kerry was dishonorably discharged. Mr. Kerry has claimed that he lost his medal certificates and that is why he asked that they be reissued. But when a dishonorable discharge is issued, all pay benefits, and allowances, and all medals and honors are revoked as well. And five months after Mr. Kerry joined the U.S. Senate in 1985, on one single day, June 4, all of Mr. Kerry's medals were reissued.

I didn't catch the part about the board of review until I went over to the other thread. Seems like Kerry used his political clout to get things fixed, but we had already speculated that on here ad naseum, just not the board of review part.

I remember we were talking about the USCS section before and intimating that Kerry's original discharge would have been other than honorable and were trying to figure out the actual discharge.

I just hope this somehow makes it onto the MSM's radar. With the way they have been treating this whole issue and the issue of the Swifties, somehow, I doubt ever will.

"If he does, his bogus Purple Hearts will also come under attack. "

The swifties will take care of the Bogus Purple Hearts, keep your ears open for that.

But Kerry can just stone wall this issue and refuse to sign anything unless and until there is a major airing of this issue. We have a chicken and egg problem here.

Swifties... We need your help !!!

In a word: Drudge

If he posts it, it will build momentum before tonight's debate.

Rush Limbaugh will also likely address it today but I don't know if he will dwell on it.

Sounds like a smoking gun that overshadows anything the Democrats have tried to throw against Bush's service record. It would also be quite instructive of why they tried so hard to tarnish Bush's record, when their candidate was a "genuine war hero". If Kerry had a BCD or DD, he'd have to be "toast" to a large part of the electorate during a time of war. They badly needed to innoculate Kerry against an "October surprise".

It's above the Bushie aristocratic sense of "fair play" for the Bush campaign to go after Kerry's service record on any basis (which makes charges by the left that Bush is behind the Swift Boat Vets all that more ludicrous). And, of course, not a single mainstream media organization, including Fox News with bring this up, or challege Kerry to sign his Form 180. If they had, we'd be long past the Vietnam war issue. This will be dismissed by the MSM as "all old news".

Of course Kerry's hiding his past. And, of course, his core 40% supporters know what he is, and they regard his pro-Communist treason during the Vietnam war as a real plus. Kerry is, in fact, the mainstream of the Democrat party, which today is just a bit to the political right of Lenin and Ho-Chi-Minh.

The fact that this is not blasting from a Drudge headline is about all you need to know about this story. It can't be news, because it'll never see the light of day beyond the New York Sun.
