I once had a client that owed me money for a long overdue veterinary bill that when she paid us she smeared the money with dog excrement. I washed the bills and remembered the event. Years later, she had a veterinary emergency with one of her dogs and had been going to another veterinarian that is notorious for not taking his after hours calls. It was a sweet payback...I told her she had to have the money up front before I would see her and believe me, the deposit was not insignificant. She was angry at me..blah blah blah. What goes around comes around.

Funny story! I am glad you didn't refuse to treat the dog, he couldn't help it if his owner was a jerk. I pay my vet first before my other bills. Of course, my vet is my brother and I get special treatment at his clinic. I get to come in the exit door and go right to the head of the line no matter how many people are waiting, but I pay full price. The only price I pay for house calls is dinner. LOL
