Obviously ABC News thinks Americans are stupid. First they post a story about Bush wearing a microphone to the first debate so that he could be fed responses and now they pull this stunt. You would think that after CBS they would realize that the days of treating voters like uneducated sheep are over. Evidently they are the ones who are a little slow on the uptake! Time to boycott ABC News - that is if anyone actually watches it in the first place . . .

Old media is dying a slow death. They will lash out at anything and everyone that does not conform to their view.

Think that's why Gibson chose to end the debate with a question which basically said, "Mr. Bush, admit three of your mistakes, and Mr. Kerry, you also admit three of his mistakes."

Disgusting bias, obvious set-up, but Bush threw it back in charlie-boy's face.

Kerry utters distortion after distortion -- saying over and over that Bush instituted a tax cut for the rich (it was across the board), stressing only negative developments in Iraq and downplaying or ignoring positive developments, etc.

The statement "the current Bush attacks on Kerry involve distortions and taking things out of context in a way that goes beyond what Kerry has done" reveals an inadvertent truth. The fact is, since 1971, John Kerry has not done much of ANYTHING, since he so famously got up before Senator Fulbright's committee and slandered his fellow soldiers. John Kerry has mouthed many words since then, which frequently show varying opinions at almost polar opposites from other opinions which he has uttered. But as far as DOING anything, he doesn't show up for Senate votes, and rarely sits in on committee meetings to which he has been assigned.

How could anyone distort what Kerry says, in view of the fact that his own words are so often contradictory? What IS the context? Is Kerry anti-war, or for the war on terror, but only in the "right" way? What is the "right" way? And not just simply, "I would have done it differently." Differently HOW? Everything he proposed sounds just like what Bush has ALREADY done.

Back in the dark days of the New Deal, Republicans were floundering around, trying to carry their case to the voters, by offering similar but less extensive programs of their own to compete with Roosevelt's "Brain Trust", and they were promptly labled "Me Too". Kerry is reduced to the position of saying, to whatever Bush is doing, "Me too."

If you have the real thing, and it appeals to the voters, why go for the imitation?

We have long known that the "Mainstream Newsmedia" has become nothing more than a propaganda machine--and the most powerful and relentless propaganda machine in history. Now, its spokespersons openly acknowledge this.

Halperin told his colleagues: "We have a responsibility to hold both sides accountable to the public interest, but that doesn't mean we reflexively and artificially hold both sides 'equally' accountable when the facts don't warrant that."

Halperin has to be an idiot to release a memo like this right after the Rather memos.

This just points to the duplicity of the entire MSM not just to CBS.

Can we expect a biased memo to be released from NBC soon?

ABC: Bush Distorts More than Kerry, So Must Be Held to Account

That's not quite what the memo said. That, if true, would be a statement of fac, demonstrable at least in theory. However what the memo actually said was that the distortions are a central part of Bush's campaign, but the even more extensive distortions of the Kerry campaign are not a central part of his campaign. That's a judgement call, and not direct demostrable. It's also, IMHO not true.

Time for the SwiftVets/POWs "October Surprise.".

I find it difficult to believe that the type of propaganda and bias being indulged in by the MSM (?) is protected by the First Amendment, which was enacted to preserve and encourage the free dissemination of information -- but certainly not the deliberate spreading of patently false and damaging stories. Perhaps this issue can be revisited by a "strict constructionist" Supreme Court.

No matter what President Bush does it is wrong. He's led us through the war on terrorism and through the ups and downs of the economy and all the rest. They keep bringing up how many people died in Iraq and all the rest of the stuff they attack him with. Don't they realize that people die in war! One is to many but with out these wonderful people we would not have the America we have. I'm talking about the people who have died in all the wars that have protected America From Concord Bridge till now. These cultural marxists thatare led by hanoi john, Hitlery, and terry macawful will give America away to the THUGS in the United Nations.
