WASHINGTON - Education officials in six states were put on notice last month that a computer disc found in Iraq (news - web sites) over the summer contained photos, floor plans and other information about schools in their districts, two U.S. government officials said.
The downloaded data the U.S. military found in July — all publicly available on the Internet — included an Education Department report guiding schools on how to prepare and respond to a crisis, one official said Thursday, speaking on condition of anonymity. The districts mentioned were in California, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, New Jersey and Oregon, officials said, adding that the FBI (news - web sites) alerted local education and law enforcement authorities of the finding about three weeks ago.
The warning follows an analysis by the FBI and the Homeland Security Department of the siege that killed more than 330 people, nearly half of them children, in the city of Beslan.

Why would AQ target US schools? That's where the terrorist supporting leftist indoctrination begins. Maybe AQ was merely going to provide funding the the US school system with a "keep up the good work" card.

apparently the guy who had the disk (was found last month) does contracting for a co that builds Iraqi schools so that may explain why he had the plans he downloaded from the Internet.
And the draft legislation was started by Democrats ... but that didn't matter.
I said this a couple of weeks ago.. and got some crazy email from a lurker... I think it is perfectly logical to assume that Kerry will put a price on the lives of our children.
