I haven't received any word on political support for any foriegn policy related issue from my CWA local. It doesn't matter as 70% of the guys around here are moderate to conservative and definitelty not the Kerry type.

This is why I left the leadership in my former union;
International Ass. of Machin. and Aero.. was because they were supporting financially people that the rank and file didnot like. They were also requiring us to lie to members about things like that and pending layoffs..which is why unions are not very big here anymore in Houston..

Don't know how union members can correct this problem, seems to ingrained.

"Don't know how union members can correct this problem, seems to ingrained."

They like to have two bosses, one that supports them and the union bosses they support in grand style.

That's too bad that you left. It seems that a common tactic of the marxist leadership of unions is to embrace absurdly outrageous causes solely to force out moderate voices in leadership positions and ultimatly to drive them out. I suspect that many of these people don't even believe these wacky theories, but promoting them is just a useful tool for a power grab. Honest rank and file members need to take back the unions.

Amen, the last straw that drove me out, was the closing of the company, Cameron Iron Works..all of the previously stated stuff happening just before...but here is to the rank and file and the hope that they can take it back...
