Many people are asking why a 58-year-old grandfather is returning to service in the United States Army.
My reason for returning to the service of our great nation can best be summed by the words of President George W. Bush's acceptance speech

I'm glad you posted this! Joe Repya has done alot in the Twin Cities for supporting the troops and now he's going to Iraq! What a man!
This is something you don't do "for oil", or for a war that you don't believe is worth dying for. G-d bless him.
This was an awesome post... I forwarded to everyone in my address book and local talk radio.. It's a great and inspiring story...
Good for him, you don't see many retired e-5 or 6s returning to duty, much less a LtCol.
Joe is a good man. Met him at the state GOP convention.
I sure wish I was able to go with you sir....
God bless and watch over you....and all our troops...
'This here' is a real American....
If not, then we citizens must all find other ways to serve. Maybe, as long as I work, my taxes will help the cause.
In any event, I salute the 58 year old who has gone back in to the service.
I wish Tommy Franks had remained -- maybe GW will find another way for him to serve - Mrs. Franks needs to realize how much the nation needs Tommy's many talents.
What a wonderful story! I think Ollie North would get back in if he could, that's why he's reporting with the troops so much, he just loves it.
God bless him and his family.
This man is a true unselfish American. I hope he earns his 'eagle' during this service for his country.
Thanks...for returning to fight for this great nation, sir!!!
