Well, yours was at least the 2nd worst comment to me...I too thought, "how insensitive".
And notice how Edwards finished the "gay marriage" line by switching, again, to another topic? And it was Iraq!!!
I guess he's worried about gay marriage there!
Edwards practices the time-honored liberal technique of throwing so many different kinds of cr*p up against the wall, that his opponent can't possibly respond to all of it within the time allotted. Cheney even made a bemused comment about it.
A liberal friend of mine uses the same debating "tactic" (oh, and when you try to pin them down with logic, they sense their impending doom and squirm away by changing the subject). They are completely impervious to logic or fact.
