Edwards plan to have lawyers self-police themselves on frivilous suits by committee.

So what are any of the bar associations for?

You have to do something pretty bad to get disciplined by the bar--steal from clients, get caught in a complete factual fraud, forget to show up--and the punishments are rather mild. A frivolous suit doesn't even rate, unless you really tick off the judge. The idea of tort lawyers disciplining each other by committee and keeping their incomes down is beyond ridiculous.
