Congratulations!
When he finishes maybe he will come on this forum and explain it to the Freepers who don't get it. There are plenty.
I wonder if Edwards can hear the voices of partial birth abortion victims?
And almost all of them are just like him.
A future Republican vs. the NEA!
God bless him!
Good for your son and good for the teacher for passing on the truth. My kiddo was shot down by a history teacher over Terri's Law even though proof was on the front page of the newspaper on the teacher's desk.
My son's fourth grade teacher was reprimanded and two days
loss of pay for spreading the liberal lies.In front of the class the principle explained that the class room was not the place for the teacher to push her liberal agenda.
Our son, 22, called to tell me he has his friend two steps away from voting Bush. The friend has been hardcore left and has continued to make fun of my son for his conservative views. Where my son works everyone is very liberal and some are aware of his politics. They ask him all the time if he is ready to go to Iraq. To his friend and his co-workers he has had the opportunity to prove to his friend that it is the Dems that are supporting the Draft and to his co-workers he has said that as long as Bush is in office he has no fear of being drafted and going to Iraq. He has shared with them the FACTS. Most just turn and walk away.
Great Story! Mind if you tell what state/city in which you live? Many teachers (and this goes for college profs as well) would actually lower the grade simply for the fact that if it doesn't align with their ideology, they get p.o.'d.
Living here in California I feel very fortunate that my son's 8th grade american studies teacher is a Bush supporter. Who'd of thunk, since I haven't had any hope all the years he's been in school so far. He told his teacher I told him that the sac bee was a communist rag and his teacher agreed. There's a glimmer of hope out here. And yes there are a few of us in ca.
Thanks for your responses.
I'm glad my kid has (some) teachers that place truth on a higher pedestal than propoganda.
Naturally it makes me proud - but more important - it has given my Son more confidence in his own judgement, and his ability to stand up to a room full of peers, and prove to them that their 'popular idea' is wrong.
English and Science teachers are the biggest of all the liberals in hgih schools.
Math teachers tend to be less liberal and more conservative, but you can't really tell because it's difficult to show your political views while teaching Algebra.
But most of the math teachers I've had were Christian church-goers.
English, Science, and Language teachers are the biggest nightmares to worry about.
LOL!
My hat's also off to the teacher who had enough humility and regard for the truth to correct himself.
Why doesn't John Edwards use his psychic powers to channel bin Laden and tell us exactly where he is? Or, how about al-Sadr ...what is he plotting?
Yup. Wrong battle, wrong year, even wrong end of the battlefield. She argued and challenged his assertions until he told her he had walked both Fredericksburg and First Manassas battlefields.
This is great! I am a professor of American history, one of the few conservatives in academia. Most liberals cut and run when faced with the truth (in fact, one of my colleagues did just that a few minutes ago), so the response by your son's teacher is actually very good. Tell him to use Ronald Reagan's strategy -- relentless hammering home of the truth, couched in humor.
