Houston Texans vs. Oakland Raiders
12:00 Noon Kickoff, Reliant Stadium
The goal of the Houston Texans Hispanic Heritage Day presented by MOTOROLA, is to create a special and diverse event that celebrates the importance of Hispanic heritage and increases awareness to our Hispanic Raving Fans.
Mango Punch performed during last year's Hispanic Heritage celebration.
This year will mark our third annual Texans Hispanic Heritage Day and in the past this event has served as a historic moment for the Houston Texans, our city and a model for professional sports. As part of Hispanic Heritage Day, the Houston Texans are proud to feature Latin themed pre-game festivities such as a live Latin band in Budweiser Plaza , Mariachi performances, and highlight Houston Texans Hispanic Outreach Projects. The Texans will also feature the National Football Leagues only Hispanic Advisory Board, along with a special acknowledgement for the Houston Texans on going partnership with the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
"Motorola is proud to present Houston Texans Hispanic Heritage Day 2004. This is a time to celebrate Hispanic culture and the positive impact that it has on the lives of Houston residents and Texans fans! These fans are passionate about staying in touch with friends and family, and they're passionate about their football. For that reason, Motorola is happy to be a part of this excitement! Congratulations, Houston Texans, on your unique and successful outreach to Hispanic fans!" John McNulty, Motorola Vice President of Sales.
Que Vivan Los Houston Texans!
I called and asked if regular white guys would be allowed in. "Yes."
I asked if the Texans planned an "Asian Heritage Day" or an "African Heritage Day" or an "European Heritage Day"? 'NO', was the answer, 'We reach out to the community in many different ways" ...but no Heritage Day for Whitey!
Just about all pro sports now bow to the alter of multiculturalism and political correctness.
The NFL is counting on whitey not to notice.
I guess that's true, I don't go to any professional sports games unless I am given tickets, like this Sunday.
I have lost a lot of respect for professional sports, the owners and the players from my younger days when I was a sports junkie.
"Regular white guy" is too generic.
Try asking for a :
Well, I can understand the Texans having a Cajun Festival Day, Louisiana doesn't have a professional football team.
I bet the food is good, though!
Just Kidding, picking on the Saints is easy.
The 2nd of March is the day for White Texan Heritage Day. On that day in 1836, the delegates of the people of Texas in general convention at Washington on the Brazos declared their independence of Mexico.
Are you kidding?? That would be racist!
Go easy on the Saints. Heck, they were the 2nd best football team in Louisiana last year.
Soon to be ending...
Politicians of all stripes have ignored this for years. As much as it pains me to say this, W is OTL on this one. Badly.
Drove up through California along the highway recently. Took a jaunt through an agricultural area near a town called Guadalupe.
The field workers had a huge Mexican flag flying near the truck they were loading. Unbelievable.
It's funny. On another thread, they are discussing the number of hispanics in Orange County, CA. One poster pointed out that most of the U.S. reps from OC are still WASPy conservatives. Well, that won't last for long! It's like the guy in a car hurtling at 100 mph towards a cliff saying everything's OK, no problems here.
Yeah. For a few more seconds, then all hell's gonna break loose.
South Texas is going to end up being essentially a Mexican protectorate, which I suspect is what the FTAA pushers are hoping for. I just wonder if anyone thought to ask the American population there if they wanted themselves and their children to end up living in Alta Mexico, under de facto Mexican rule. Call it Santa Anna's Revenge.
Maybe there'll be a second Alamo.
And you can keep driving up 101 and see those flags in the fields and even in towns like Watsonville, and probably all the way up to the Oregon border (I'm sure they're working on that, too).
Eventually, in towns like Salinas, Watsonville, Castroville, Arroyo Grande, Guadalupe, etc, places where "they" are the majority (they have no problem self identifying as a nationalist group, unlike the poor, pathetic Americans), the Mexican flag will fly over the city halls and other government offices. They will say, "but we are the majority". And no one will stop them. Not Arnold the Austrian, and certainly not George "Jorge" Arbusto. That might detract from the precious hispanic voter outreach effort. Couldn't have that.
If you think the flags are bad, turn on the radio. You'll note that in those parts of CA (and even L.A.), Spanish stations are now approximately 1/2 of all stations.
Probably still does, everywhere except in the U.S.
I would bet a similar stunt south of the border would result in physical attack on the perpetrator!
It would seem that Americans are now the only people who are denied nationality, strangely by the very government that supposedly serves us.
So is "Latino," when you think about it. How about an Anglo-American Congressional Caucus?
(BTW, I'm Celtic [AFAIK], not Anglo. But I'd be totally cool with an Anglo-American Congressional Caucus.)
From what I've heard, it does.
When I first heard about Tom Tancredo demanding an apology from the Mexican ambassador for its citizens shouting "Osama! Osama!" when they beat us in a soccer match, I thought, "What a blowhard."
Now I think he was being a softie. The Mexican government owes us far, far more than that. It would seem that Americans are now the only people who are denied nationality, strangely by the very government that supposedly serves us.
The American government has not served its electorate since JFK bought won the 1960 election.
