Canadians always fought wars with the Americans.

It's only their recent liberal government that has broken with that tradition, and practicaly destroyed their army.

Yup. And more than a few Yanks enlisted in the Canadian forces before December 7th, 1941, as well.

As a Canadian I tend to really agree with you on that. Those who were on assignment with the USA during the Iraw war did actually fight with the USA - something the liberal government was embarrassed to reveal. They should be ashamed of themselves for what they did to those troops. You know even to this day, my neighbour who is stationed out of CFB Kingston just got back from a six month plus stint (exchange assignment) at CENTCOM where he was helping out the Americans in Iraq.

I must admit I was happy that the Liberal (back in the 1990s) got their collective act together to eliminate the federal deficit and began dramtically reducing the debt. They have even decreased corporate and personal income taxes.

But on defence, they definitely get the "fail" grade. And not supporting the troops while they were in battle in Iraq ... well ... that's where they lost my vote in the last election.
