Mandatory draft for boys and girls (ages18-26) starting June 15, 2005 There is pending legislation in the House and Senate, S89 and HR 163,to reinstate mandatory draft for boys and girls (ages18-26) starting June 15, 2005. This plan includes women in the draft, eliminates higher education as a shelter, and makes it difficult to cross into Canada.
The Bush administration is quietly trying to get these bills passed now, while the public's attention is on the elections. The Bush administration plans to begin mandatory draft in the spring of 2005, just after the 2004 presidential election.

Maybe we should add to the message and send it around again to all the U.S. colleges?
We simply include a line that says "part of the new law includes a provision that permits draft boards to review individual voting records. Those 18-26 year olds that voted for a Democratic candidate will be drafted first".
We need to put the brush fire out .... NOW......
Funny how it's only the libbies who are crowing about the draft.
Obviously they've forgotten two recent facts.
1. The 1st Mar Div Commanding General had to ask CMC (Commandant MC) for permission to reenlist OVER his quota since so many Leathernecks want to stay in and serve.
2. The US Army as a WHOLE is WELL above their recruiting quotas for FY04 and have had to PUT potential recruits off until AFTER 1 Oct for the new Fiscal Year's quotas!
In other words, it was introduced by a Democrat and sponsored only by Democrats, and now they're using it to scare history-challenged college kids into turning off the X-Box and putting down the bong long enough to register and vote. Is there no limit to Democratic Party dishonesty?

I certainly hope that the College Republican groups around the country are identifying these bills as being filed by DEMOCRATS since that information seems to be lacking in these sKerry emails. And it wouldn't hurt to have Pres. Bush say this in the debate tomorrow night. I think Karen Hughes should be able to work in the fact that the Democrats are trying to scare college kids this way, but we want a professional military of highly motivated volunteers, and a draft isn't desirable to accomplish that.
Sure does, but the Democrats are accustomed to talking down to the unwashed masses.
And Kerry speaking to seniors in Florida telling them that President Bush will be cutting their social security by 45%.

It's very likely spam. A lot is of a political nature these days, and it originates from the greasy fingers of some immature hacker rather than the DNC or a 527. Should any Freeper or any Freeper's college son or daughter receive this stuff, about all you can do is mail a copy *with the full headers* to abuse@college'sIT or yourISP and ask them to filter it out and revoke the hacker's account.

Summary
Several FactCheck subscribers have asked about an e-mailed rumor that is causing a lot of anxiety. It claims that steps are being taken to resume military conscription next year. But the message abounds with misinformation and half-truths. And some experts say conscription is the last thing the military wants or needs, despite being stretched thin in Iraq.
Analysis
We can't say whether this one is deliberate misinformation or just sloppy reporting, but it sure is generating a lot of needless anxiety. It amounts to another "lying e-mail" of the kind we've warned about before (check the links to "related articles" at the end of this one.)
