He was the uncle of a close friend growing up. I had many opportunities to talk with him, long before he got into his UFO phase. He was a very kind and gentle man who cared deeply for people who were suffering. When one of my best friends committed suicide at age 19 he flew in and spent a lot of time talking with all of us who were grieving. I believe this was one of the catalysts for his work on teen suicide. I never read his books on UFOs but there was much more to him as a person than these two books.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
