Something to Yak About – International Man of Mystery Has Secret ‘Post-Debate War Plan’
Buried deep within a news report on the run-up to the first presidential debate – the final sentence as a matter of fact – is the latest insight into the mind of John Kerry, International Man of Mystery. Regarding what the Kerry campaign loves to call the ‘spin war,’ Kerry spokesperson Stephanie Cutter is quoted as saying, “Kerry had his own post-debate war plan ready to go. She would not disclose it.” Hmmmmm… a non-disclosed post-debate spin war plan, eh? Maybe it’s something stitched together with the help of all those foreign leaders who secretly endorse him or just the latest nuance for this International Man of Mystery.

Kerry’s Firearm Flip-Flop
Here’s a beauty. During an interview with Outdoor Life Magazine, John Kerry told the magazine, “One of my reminders of my service is a Communist Chinese assault rifle." But the Democrat nominee apparently started taking heat from his left-wing base, prompting Kerry flack David Wade to say, "The Kerry campaign should have described it as an old military rifle,” in a pre-interview questionnaire. Blaming the staff again?! Perhaps another firearm photo-op would clear up this latest silly flip-flop. Are we talking a Chinese AK or a Mosin-Nagant?

‘The Family’ SUV Revisited

Maybe John Kerry’s firearm flip-flop is more like his tortured responses to what kind of car he owns. You remember – the SUV flap from earlier this year – when Kerry first said, “We also have a Chevy, a big Suburban,” but then said, “I don't own an SUV.” Look, the kind of car a guy drives or the kind of assault rifle he likes to shoot isn’t a campaign issue. But when John Kerry can’t even give a straight answer to the most personal questions, it really makes you wonder.

A Re-Born Yankee Fan?

John Kerry isn’t the first Massachusetts liberal to flip-flop for political reasons, but what about allegiances to the hometown team? After limited success extolling his love of the Boston Red Sox, it seems Kerry is now a New York Yankee fan. At a New York City fundraiser written up in last week’s Washington Post, “Kerry reflected on his reborn self. He praised the triple victories of the Jets, Giants and Yankees and said: ‘I came here to bask in your glory, came here to grab onto that winning streak.’" Sounds like the political equivalent of a lousy pitch that doesn’t make it to home plate.

Talkers Profile – Brian Farrar, WAAM/Ann Arbor

“Brian Farrar began his radio career at the University of Michigan as a weekly talk show host. Within just a few months, he was making headlines, interviewing such luminaries as Bob Dole, Ted Kennedy, Mike Wallace, and actor/director Gary Sinise.” (SOURCE: Talk Radio 1600 WAAM)

The Final Yak

“Talk about depressing. There were so many long faces in the Broncos' dressing room, it looked like a John Kerry look-alike contest.” (SOURCE: Denver Post sports columnist Jim Armstrong, from his Sept. 21 notes on the Denver Broncos)
