Thanks for whatever you are able to do, it certainly will be appreciated. I had to smile at the notion of pinging Arlen. I have no doubt he is being kept up to date where he now resides. My wife and I sure do miss him here. We are still hoping to pay your church a visit one of these days.

Thanks. There is no way I can follow in Arlin's footprints, but at least we can keep the ping list, and the FR Anglican community, together for the time being.

And at least to some degree receptive to Anglicanism, if one reads "The Hard Awakening" by M. Dehqani-Tafti, former (pre-revolution) Anglican Bishop of Iran.

The ancient, indigenous Christian church of Iran is the Nestorian or Assyrian church, one of the non-Chalcedonian Oriental Orthodox churches. These churches are now in dialogue, and in increasing agreement, with the Eastern Orthodox churches, and may soon come back into communion with each other. I often meet Oriental Orthodox worshipping in Orthodox Church in America churches--they receive communion just like their EO brothers and sisters, which I as a Lutheran cannot do.

There are now few Assyrian Christians in Iran, but I imagine there are a lot more of them than Anglicans. But islam is in trouble in Iran--despite the bluster and imperialist (and nuclear) aspirations of the ruling mullahs.

Just imagine an Orthodox Christian Iran, with the great civilization of Persia fully restored!!!! It's probably a pipe-dream, but who knows?

The BIGGEST FOOL OF ALL with respect to touting the "superiority" of the EU over the US is Jeremy Rifkin (best known as an anti-biotech "gadfly"), in his new book "The European Dream"

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1585423459/qid=1096379453/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/103-2959021-8356656?v=glance&s=books

Rifkin especially praises the EU's "secularism" and "respect for diversity".

What the mega-fool Rifkin fails to see is the LOOMING SPECTER of islamization in Western Europe!!!! islamoNazis have no respect for "diversity", but are out for CONQUEST!!!! Either Western Europe gets it together culturally and with renewed Christianity, or they WILL be conquered!!!!
