re: I agree with the poster who says that merely being married to a political activist ought not disqualify a reporter from covering politics.)))

re also "repeatedly" from Madstrider)))

Who said anything about disqualifying--this is a free country and there is a 1st amendment. To notice is not to disqualify.

OTOH, there's such a thing as being "out there" and being willing to take the heat ...and not enjoy the noteriety of being influential in the media, demanding answers in the WH press corps, without having to face the music about possible conflicts of interest.

I have also googled up JL's previous reportage. It's worth a look.

Funny thing (and I speak as someone who used to grade reems of student essays , keeping an nose in gear to smell out those who would get others to do their writing for them)--this "Bush Twists Kerry's Words" is not reportage, it is an essay.

It does not sound like her other writings. It's not her voice I hear. Read around, and see what you think.

You make a VERY, VERY good point. She could be merely paraphrasing the latest DNC press release in her "twisted" article.

It would be VERY interesting to compare recent DNC and Kerry press releases to her "twisted" article, but that's for someone else at the moment.
