I think they could be Serbs slaughtered in this area of Bosnia (eastern Bosnia) in WWI and WWII where there were great slaughters by the Austrians, Bosnians, Croats, and Germans.

The important thing for all of us to do is to keep tallying up the body counts for each side and keep bickering about who killed who and how many.
