A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

1) Click on the graphic to open the Calendar. 2) Once there you can click on any month and even click to the right to go into next year. Once you are in the month that you joined FR you will need to click on the number in the calendar and then an add item screen will come up. 3) In the next box enter your name in the "Calendar Text" field and then click on submit. 4) If any of the screens fail to load simply click on refresh in your browser and that will usually fix it. 5) If all else fails or simply if you want me to do this for you send me a FReepmail and I will gladly do it for you. ~Mixer

God's Appointments
Read: Proverbs 16:1-9
A man's heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps. Proverbs 16:9
Bible In One Year: Song of Solomon 4-5; Galatians 3
Life-changing events do not happen by accident. They are not determined by the stars. They are not by chance. There is no such thing as chance. The Lord uses every situation in life to accomplish His purposes.
Frank W. Boreham (1871-1959), British pastor and essayist, said, "It was not by chance that Elijah and Ahab met on the grassy slopes of Carmel. It was not by chance that Herod and John met on the highways in Galilee. It was not by chance that Pilate and Jesus met in the judgment hall at Jerusalem. It was not by chance that Peter and Cornelius met on the Syrian seaboard. It was not by chance that Philip and the Ethiopian met on the sandy road to Gaza. It was not by chance that Nero and Paul met amid the antique splendors of ancient Rome. . . . No, our meetings are no more by chance than the meeting of Stanley and Livingstone in Central Africa."
We should begin each day with a sincere desire to please the Lord, gladly anticipating His appointments for us. They may be circumstances that are unplanned, or the people we meet unexpectedly. But we should welcome them as opportunities to witness, to serve others, and to grow spiritually.
Recognizing God's sovereign leading, let us rejoice in His appointments. Richard De Haan

I'll start celebrating about 4:30!!!! I started already!!! (It's 5 o'clock somewhere) But I have an excuse - it's my birthday. The one day of the year that I get to pretend I have absolutely no adult responsibilities!!
I got to sleep in this morning, and hubby took care of getting the yung'un dressed and on the school bus!

Today's message prompts acnowledgement of the reasons each of us is here as part of not only The Finest Family, but the larger one of God's.
It was surely His doing that inspired Billie to create this special setting - His guidance that brought so many diverse humans to one spot to share and celebrate the ups and downs of life - together!
As a generation, we are blessed to have this means of communication not before possible.
He uses it to edify and encourage us, and allow many to voice together our praise and thanks and support for one another.
Our ships upon His living waters spread as individual ripples in every direction, His will to be served, flowing without end!
Our roles are as diverse as we are.
As are all, we are simply His children; not one of us bound by geographic, nor economic nor intellectual parameters.
We gather together, believing in His love and grace and providence, to share ourselves according to our individual gifts.
Billie's vision of the focus upon high ideals and the best of life - especially of what makes America so unique, and those who protect and preserve her - is our common drawing card.
There is no way we can adequately express our appreciation for what you and your presenters offer and serve us, day after day!
Knowing I speak for every regular and visitor to The Finest,
we give our heartfelt thank yous ---

Hi, Sistah D! A certain swishy-tailed wolfie sent me that TGIF graphic - I think it's very clever, too - especially since I do

I'll second that, LadyX. This is one site I will not miss each day. I may not post everyday, but I'm here and always leave feeling so good. Thanks, Billie.
