This is a horrible travesty. There is no common sense, there is no virtue, integrity or morality in what those who seek her death are perpetrating against this woman.
One thing this case has done over the years they have fighting in the courts is to encourage people to make out living wills.
I carry one in the car,in my wallet and on our refrigerator.
I don't want the government determining what is best for me while I am alive, half dead or dead.
I think it is a shame that a killer gets more humane treatment when it comes to killing them. Think of the outrage if states decided to use starvation as a means of execution!
Someone go care for her.
And someone protect the caregiver.
I don't understand why anyone is waiting for permission to care for the sick.
This is incredibly cynical. The court correctly ruled that Terri's law violated the separation of powers. Lawmakers knew it when they passed the law and Bush knew it when he signed it. A law similar to this could allow the legislature to overturn death penalties imposed by juries which is absurd.
The entire situation should have been handled differently than passing a law that was unquestionably unconstitutional. Now Terri's been painted into a corner that there may be no way out from.
If Terri were an ax murderer there would be many on the left side of the fence who would be trying to save her life.
