If you really dig into info on this guy. You see that he has been left out to dry. He isn't just some screwball guy going after money. He is credited by some to be responsible for fingering 2 prominent spies. He fingered them with information he got from his sources. The FBI ans CIA(Pre 9-11) asked for his sources and he would not give them up. Bam in jail. Got out went to work with the northern alliance before the invasion and told the US government exactly were Osama Mamma Bin Laden was. They troops got there after a 5 day delay and guess what? Osama Bahama was gone.

This guy's case has been covered in the last few issues of Soldier of Fortune magazine. They're supporting him about like you are. SoF seems to have reasonable street cred, to me. They're about the only print media giving significant in-the-BDUs reporting from the real hot spots.
