Something to Yak About - The Mother of All Flip-Flops, Part Deux

Why is John Kerry seemingly unable to stop himself from flopping all over the place on Iraq and Saddam Hussein? The Gentleman from Massachusetts did it again on Tuesday, saying at a Florida news conference that Americans and Iraqis are less secure with Saddam Hussein in jail, and his torture chambers and rape rooms shut down. This follows earlier remarks from Kerry who, when trying to contrast himself with Howard 'I Have A Scream' Dean and his staunch anti-war position, said anyone who doesn't believe America is safer with Saddam in the slam lacks the proper judgment to be president. Seriously, this is sounding like a soap opera - 'As the Flip Flops' or maybe 'All My Flip-Flops' or even 'The Flipped and the Flopped.'

Plan? What Plan?

The Yak did a Nexis search of John Kerry's MOAFF Part Duex speech Tuesday and found more than a dozen different references to his "plan for success," in Iraq. Say what? John Kerry has professed between eight and 10 different positions on Iraq (it's tough to nail down an exact number) but seems to think that cobbling together a crazy quilt of previous positions passes for a 'plan.' NOTE TO KERRY CAMPAIGN: You can't have a plan if your position is incoherent.

And In Case You Didn't Know...

Perhaps the biggest howler from John Kerry's Tuesday dog-n-pony show was this line, of which we have the audio: "I have one position on Iraq, one position." No offense, but 'one position on Iraq' is a dog that won't hunt.

'Kerry Aide Talked To Source of CBS Story'

That's the headline from a Tuesday p.m. cycle item at The Albuquerque Trib, which quotes top Kerry campaign advisor Joe Lockhart denying any connection between those bogus documents used in a smear job against the president. Lockhart is now the second Kerry campaign official we know of who reconnoitered with Bill Burkett, the Texas Democrat who was the source of documents for the now repudiated CBS story on the president's military service.

Kerry Campaign Fund Raisers Meet With Spy

Veterans of the 1996 election may have flashbacks over this AP item, detailing how finance officials with John Kerry's campaign met with a South Korean spy named Chung Byung-Man. According to the AP, "The disclosure raised concerns among U.S. officials that he or Seoul may have tried to influence the fall presidential election." Here we go again...

Talkers Profile - Gary Sutton, WSBA/York, PA

"Gary Sutton is a person who is as interested in what is going on around him, as you are. He has been around York for over 40 years, and has been involved in the community in many diverse ways. Gary is also extremely attuned to the national and world communities around him, and welcomes the opportunity to talk about all of those communities every week-day from 9 to Noon." (SOURCE: WSBA)

The Final Yak

"If Saddam Hussein is unwilling to bend to the international community's already existing order, then he will have invited enforcement, even if that enforcement is mostly at the hands of the United States, a right we retain even if the Security Council fails to act."
