For those that want to make their taxes higher. Please send this to anybody (Bill Clinton, John Kerry...) who thinks we don't pay enough taxes.

In 2003, generous and civic minded citizens sent the US Treasury 1,277,423.40 USD in gifts to help reduce the public debt. The voluntary program is run by the Bureau of the Public Debt. The Bureau can accept cash, government securities or personal property on the condition that the property can be sold and the proceeds used to reduce debt held by the public. The public debt represents all the Treasury securities like T-bills, notes, bonds and savings bonds that are sold to the public to help finance government operations. As of September 16, 2004, the total public debt stood at 7.3 trillion USD. The average share of the public debt now stands at approximately 25,000 per citizen. Since September 30, 2003 the public debt has increased by an average of 1.7B USD per day. If you are interested in making a gift to the Bureau of Public Debt, check out their contribution instructions.

Then burn the check.

Because that's what they'll do with your money. Same impact.

I's certain Klintoon, who constantly whines about he got such a huge, unfair tax cut, sends money into the Treasury all the time to make up for it.

Gee, that's nearly 0.0001% of what they took involuntarily from the not so generous or civic minded citizens through taxes.
