Senator Wyden Badgers Rep. Porter Goss
C-SPAN

Posted on 09/20/2004 2:53:10 PM PDT by scuret

Senator Ron Wyden D-Oregon joined his fellow Democrats today in badgering Rep. Porter Goss during his confirmation hearing before the Senate Intelligence Committee today. Sen. Wyden repeatedly asked Rep. Goss to prove that he would be non-partisan as new CIA director, even after Rep. Goss declared that the job has nothing to do with partisanship. Senator Wyden then asked Rep. Goss if he could prove that he will fight against the Bush administration when necessary. This badgering continued as Senator Jay Rockefeller D-West Virginia created theoretical cases to try and trip up Rep. Goss. Rep. Goss, however, maintained his cool through the attacks.

Don't blame the Democrats. The Republicans are letting it happen. I am getting sick and tired of the Republican party for not using their brains and stop the Democrats from controlling everything. And those Republicans that do not support the party, work toward getting them kicked out of the party.

This all started with the "power sdharing" approach, which resulted in the spineless RINOs getting bludgeoned by the POS democrats.

We saw it begin with John Ashcroft's confirmation, where nobody dare speak against the fat pig Teddy, and it's been down-hill ever since.

Good for Goss!!! For the detractors complaining about this in this thread, results are the only thing that matters when looking at things within the big picture.

I finally found a tagline!!

I would like to apologize, on behalf of the people of Oregon (most of whom apparently are too stupid to know that they should apologize), for our having sent this mushmouthed, lizard-brained, pitiful excuse for a human being to the United States Senate.

Interestingly, I was watching an MSNBC special on the Bushes - both George HW and George W last night. Some footage was shown from George HW's hearing as CIA director. Same old, same old from back then - accusing him of playing politics, blah, blah, blah. Will the Dems EVER stop this stupid line of questioning? Or maybe it's because they know THEY'D be playing politics if given a chance to run CIA. Go figure.........

I hear that!

I have said before that there could be 433 Republicans and 1 Democrat in the House of Representatives and the Democrats would control it.

There could be 99 Republicans and 1 Democrat in the Senate and the Democrats would control it.

Two words that make the Republicans run like cockroaches when one turns on a kitchen light: Mean Spirited.

We need pit bulls that are willing to go nose to nose with the Democrats and the main stream media when necessary and we get Toy Pekineses.

Like the old hocky coach told his players: If you can't beat them in the alley, you can't beat them on the ice.

Thus far, I have not heard of our side breaking even, let alone winning any physical confrontation with the other side.

The only thing that the other side respects is physical force. When they learn that you don't mind getting your hands dirty, or the blood from their nose on your fist, then they will begin to sing a different tune.

Senator Wyden did himself more harm than he inflicted on Congressman Goss. Every time Wyden tries to be serious, he comes across as rather goofy. Today he exceeded his normal level of goofy.

Uh,.....has Senator Wyden stopped eating his own dingle berrys long enough to study geography and learned how to find nations on the globe?

This is the dumb shit that could not find the Bosnia area nations - on a globe while on television, even when the host pointed to the general area..

This was at the time he was supporting Clinton's war against Serbians to halt the non-existent "ethnic cleansing" that the Clintons claimed to divert attention from the noises and mess Monica was making while hidden under Clinton's oval office desk...

Oregon deserves Wyden -- but the nation deserves better.
I believe the same goes for Boxer and Fineswine.

"Oregon deserves Wyden -- but the nation deserves better."

Not all of us in Oregon deserve him. Just those Portland & Eugene Libidiots, who gave him to us. We are ashamed of that dung-heap. He deserves nothing but the worst.

Then you obviously didn't watch the program. I just saw the tail end of a clip of Sen Roberts reading the dems the riot act and apologizing to Porter Goss for their "partisan" attack.

I think Sen Roberts has about had his fill of the dems. I'm wondering if this latest dust up with CBS and possible dem involvement can perhaps light a fire under the repubs.
