Men who have sex with men (MSM) are at increased risk for multiple sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) including human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection/Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS), syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, hepatitis B and hepatitis A. Numerous reports document high rates of STDs among MSM that appear to be associated with a resurgence in unsafe sexual practices. For example, in a survey of young MSM (aged 15 – 22 years) conducted in seven metropolitan areas between 1994 and 1998, 7% had already acquired HIV infection and 11% had acquired hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. Among young black MSM, 16% were already infected with HIV and 93% were unaware of their infection; those who were unaware of their infection were more likely to have had unprotected anal sex.

In addition, syphilis rates are increasing nationwide among MSM. CDC has estimated that over 40% of all cases of primary and secondary syphilis in 2002 were among MSM. In San Francisco, where the number of cases of early syphilis increased 10-fold between 1998 and 2002, 88% of all cases in 2002 were among MSM, two-thirds of whom were co-infected with HIV.

"there was a very good program on years ago (PBS I think) that linked stress during pregnancy to birthing gay children. Stress skews our hormonal levels and hence, causes problems with the fetus".
Just thought I'd toss this out there.

My father was an abusive alcoholic. "domestic violence" was the norm, "stress" is a mild word for what my mother went through on any given friday/sat nite. I have two sisters and two brothers nobody turned out perverted and none of us are prone to domestic violence.

That is just a copout excuse. Don't believe everything you see on PBS (Pervert Broadcasting system)

Wow 2 pages in a 27 year old journal, not even enough to be a summary and barely an abstract. In journals the results of studies take a lot more than two pages, even summaries do. Nevermind the journal article is 27 years ago. Anyone want to join me at the med library tomorrow

And abstracts are never more than three parpagraphs long.

I imagine the reason that this old study is used is because there is no longer any research in this area for it would not be politically feasible.

Sorry, can't buy that. It may not be GENETIC, but it almost certainly has some physiological root(s). My own personal suspicion is that it is a "birth defect" caused by some chemical or hormonal imbalance to which the developing fetus is exposed to while in gestation.

Sure, "some" homosexual behavior is simply due to brainwashing of sexually immature individuals by "chicken hawks"---but not all of it.

I vaguely recall reading about some German research in which homosexual tendencies were reversed by simple hormonal adjustment.
