The latest smear by CBS/Viacom against President Bush is a violation of federal election law. We need your help to stop them!
For years, CBS/Viacom pushed for passage of the McCain-Feingold campaign finance law. It is now in force.
It prohibits most corporations from criticizing politicians within 60 days of an election. But it has an exception for media conglomerates, which is why the liberal media pushed for the law.
However, the so-called media exception does NOT cover fraud. And it does NOT cover electioneering coordinated with a political campaign. The CBS/Viacom-Kerry campaign smear of Bush using obviously fraudulent documents puts CBS/Viacom in violation of federal election laws.
We are filing an emergency appeal to the Federal Election Commission urging immediate action to hold CBS/Viacom in violation of federal election law. We need your signature on our petition.

Click here to join this national grass-roots movement to stop Dan Rather and the liberals at CBS/Viacom from violating the laws.
The last time the American people joined this web site in taking on CBS, CBS lost millions of dollars in a failed effort to smear the Reagan family.
With your help, we can bring this left-wing, multinational corporation to its knees again.

Great idea, I think it would be great if 60 minutes had they lowest ratings EVER.
This is vindiction for my parent's generation who suffered through Rather's "Wall Within" lies and were laughed at when they said Rather was biased.
...simply superb! ;^)
MEDIA ETHICS PROJECT SEEKS FCC RULING AGAINST CBS NEWS FOR RATHERGATE
Media Ethics Project (MEP) of New York today petitioned the FCC to sanction CBS News and its parent organization, Viacom, Inc., for its recent broadcast of news reports based on forged documents.
In announcing the FCC filing, MEP Chairman William L. Whitely stated: Most people familiar with Dan Rathers reports have seen solid evidence from various credible sources showing the documents to be forged. Yet, day in and day out, CBS has stubbornly continued to maintain that the memos are authentic. This supremely arrogant conduct violates the public trust and FCC rules and policies. Viacom cannot be allowed to flaunt the Commissions rules in this manner.
MEP seeks a ruling by the FCC finding that the deliberate actions of CBS and Viacom maintaining the authenticity of the documents, constitute broadcasting of falsified, faked, distorted or staged news reports in violation of e Commission policies. MEP is asking the FCC to sanction Viacom including imposing fines and ordering forfeiture of one or more broadcast licenses .
Mr. Whitely added that, This whole episode must be regarded as a remarkable failure of management. It is truly sad that the proud traditions of professionalism of CBS News, the division built by the likes of Morrow, Severeid, Reasoner, Mudd and Cronkite, have been allowed to slowly fade away. In their place is an organization where unprincipled ego, bias, negligence, partisanship and vindictiveness apparently determine the setting of management policy. Such changes are not in the best interest of CBS, the CBS affiliates and CBS shareholders, nor, most certainly, are they in the public interest as well. Staying to this course, the House that Paley Built will likely become the Network that Rather Wrecked.
MEP has asked that the FCC expedite its consideration of the groups Petition for Declaratory Ruling against CBS News.
See a full copy of the MEP Petition for Declaratory Ruling at http://mediaethicsproject.blogspot.com/ or www.mediaethics.8k.com
With MEP's filing, the FCC now has a formal Petition to review requesting that CBS be found guilty for violating Commission policy prohibiting the broadcasting of falsified, faked, distorted or staged news reports as contrary to the public interest.
All interested parties will now be able to contact the FCC to request that it take immediate action on the MEDIA ETHICS PROJECT Petition For Declaratory Ruling Against CBS News.

BTW, my husband suggests we all send thank you notes to Dan Rather and CBS - showing our appreciation for their assistance in re-electing George W. Bush.
LOL!
Jim Geraghty of NRO wrote a wonderful story this morning about Rather and CBS and suggests among other things that attention should be given to Chris Matthews, David Broder, Bob Woodward, Carl Bernstein Ben Bradley and Wolf Blitzer to SHOW THEIR CARDS!! Rather is dissing his critics as partisans. Do these obvious liberal news people see Rather as BAD FOR JOURNALISM, MAKE THEM LOOK LIKE HACKS,NOT FIND IT UNFORGIVABLE TO RUN WITH A KNOWN FORGERY, and ACKNOWLEDGE THAT RATHER HAS DISCREDITED EVERY HARD HITTING INVESTIVE REPORTER IN THE BUSINESS TODAY!..Lets hear from these boys on these subjects..all four subjects listed above.
