ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Democratic Sen. John Kerry on Friday accused the Bush administration of hiding a plan to mobilize more National Guard and reserve troops after the election while glossing over a worsening conflict in Iraq.
"He won't tell us what congressional leaders are now saying, that this administration is planning yet another substantial call-up of reservists and guard units immediately after the election," Kerry said. "Hide it from people through the election, then make the move."
The Democratic presidential candidate listed examples where he sees Bush misleading voters about Iraq, seeking to turn the conflict into a liability for Bush even as the president polishes his credentials as the best candidate to deter terrorists and protect the nation. Kerry portrayed the president as out of touch with a serious and dangerous situation.
"With all due respect to the president, has he turned on the evening news lately? Does he read the newspapers?" Kerry said. "Does he really know what's happening? Is he talking about the same war that the rest of us are talking about?"

If at first you don't succeed.....
Just heard a report on Fox News. In his first statement of the day (Friday) John Kerry said President Bush was planning a major call-up of the Guard after the election.
Didn't have the balls to say that yesterday.
This is the type of thing that needs major coverage as it truly reveals the type of person he is.
Calls President Bush a coward for joining the National Guard and does not realize that many, many members of the Guard are taking that very, very personally.
Sees President Bush get a hell of an ovation when he speaks to the National Guard. Several Ovations.
Speaks to the Guard. Reception cold as ice. Reports have people leaving. Uses this forum to slam the man they, these very same people received warmly and enthusiasticly 2 days before. Applause so scare those listening can count the hands. Looks nervous. Finishes his speech and probably could not get out of there fast enough.
The next day says something he did not have the balls to say to their faces. Did he think that statement would get him the support of the NAtional Guard?
It all goes to character. He's an arrogant, pompous ass who has not learned how to conduct himself outside the state of Mass.

President Bush knows what's happening, because he's in charge, unlike John Kerry, who gets his news from the mainstream media and the DNC offices.
I'll believe it when Dan Rather says so.....
Someone tell sKerry that this is NOT vietnam, we are not going to cut and run, and we will follow through in this battle.
Throw that dumbf^ck a bone, he ain't got a f^cking clue.
"that this administration is planning yet another substantial call-up of reservists and guard units immediately after the election," Kerry said
Got any proof of this baseless drivel, commie boy.
Go back to North Vietnam where all your war buddies are!
""He won't tell us what congressional leaders are now saying, that this administration is planning yet another substantial call-up of reservists and guard units immediately after the election," Kerry said. "Hide it from people through the election, then make the move.""
I thought Kerry condemned VP Cheney for "scare tactics?"
Now he's trying to scare voters into voting for him? Vote for me and I'll forget we are in a war?
Somebody call Vlad Putin. Apparently, the war's over and the terrorists won.
Nuff said. There's a reason his handlers don't let him speak to reporters.
Anyone check Berger's pants. Could be a whole brigade in there somewhere.
Then the Pres is going to start the draft, then invade Iran, then Syria, then put Halliburton in charge of all the oil...its all part of "the Plan for world domination", didn't you know??????
My son is in Iraq with the national guard and they are being replaced with the 3rd iteration of troops....some of whom are national guard.
This is not a secret.
It's been decided for well over a year.
They probably have already decided the units that will be on rotation #4.
I expect they will point at these already designated troops and say that this was the secret plan.
He certainly doesn't get his information from the Sen. Intelligence Comm. since he never shows up for meetings.
John F'N--did you check Sandy Berger's pants the last time you saw him. I am sure any hidden plans are there.
ROFLMAO!!!! Oh Danny Boy comes to mind!
What are you hiding?
I'm challenging your patriotism.
Here is Kerry again giving comfort to the enemy and trying to weaken our resolve and commitment. It seems so many things remain the same, eh? Kerry does have leadship qualities and uses them quite well in the service of the enemies of the United States.
Kerry for President - Because even our enemies need encouragement.
Some one needs to put Kerry in a rubber room and give him photos of himself in Vietnam. That should keep him busy intil after Nov.
Bush probably has a better idea of what is going on that you do, Senator, considering it has been how long since you showed up for an intelligence briefing?
Anyone else notice no one contacted or asked the bush administration for a quote?
Hit piece/smear job.
He did talk about a backdoor draft yesterday.
Unless Kerry has absolute, rock-solid proof of this, how are his comments anything other than out-and-out demagoguery?
shhhh, don't give it away just yet, a few more weeks, a few more weeks
Kerry found Bush's secret plan .. right next to his secret withdrawal plan .. right there under his magic CIA hat.
This is part of the DNC scare propaganda. It goes along with all those rumors about the draft. You can tell people that only Democrats are talking about restoring the draft, but they won't believe it.
Kerry hopes that everyone will worry that after Bush is elected, they might get called up. Kids will get drafted, NG personnel will be pulled from their jobs and sent overseas, and so forth.
The media has also been running stories today about a shortage of NG personnel. It may or may not be true, but it's no coincidence that it appears on the same day Kerry is pulling this stunt.
If Bush is re-elected, no doubt, he will also start dragging blacks behind his pickup truck and cut everyone's social security benefits.
You are exactly right...the 4th rotation should be right after the first of the year...some units have already been notified, others are waiting to hear....
Kerry is behaving like swine, but I guess it comes naturally being a liberal Demon-rat.
Since when did Michael Moore begin advising John Kerry?
"With all due respect to the president, has he turned on the evening news lately?"
Is Kerry kidding?
Aren't you with Mike?
Isnt this "loose lips" on Kerry's part? What an a-hole.
The President knows that what is going on in Iraq is largely an effort to sway public opinion in the U.S. because those elements in Iraq in no way could defeat the U.S. militarily. His strong, steady and optimistic leadership is intended to bulwark the public and keep us on course - this is called leadership. There is no lack of sources of negative news if that is what one want to read/see. Kerry on the other hand is falling back on his old playbook from his Vietnam protest days: he is trying to demoralise the U.S. public and at the same time give comfort to the enemy. Funny how somethings just don't change.
Enlistments are falling off, waiting to see if Bush get re-elected. If Mr. Kerry gets in, he'll have to reinstate the draft to even think about a graceful retreat.
Kerry is cracked.
Why can't he just fart like everyone else
Nah, just one tin soldier.
Isnt this "loose lips" on Kerry's part? What an a-hole."
EXACTLY!!! Kerry either has a Crystal Ball (or two) and is giving us his PREDICTION... or... HE IS EXPOSING SENSITIVE MILITARY PLANNING WHICH HE IS DAILY MADE PRIVVY TO...
I dont think he has a Crystal Ball, so I think he is being Communistic and Traitorous AGAIN... the stuff coming out of his mouth the last few days sounds Almost Exactly like the commie rhetoric he was spouting in 1971... discusting...
FOFLOL.... What a nitwit. He must be getting his information from Dan Rather.
yep,
No response from the White House requested.
No PROOF of the allegations requested.
No mention of what he would do or how he would handle it.
No mention of Vietnam by Kerry, that can't be right. (well in a sense, the whole thing is a replay of McGovern and Vietnam)
Just the same old hot air, knowing that AP will repeat without question any senseless drivel he spouts as truth. Isn't that what reporters are supposed to do for the Dems?
They hired on Sandy Berger for the job. He's a man of extraordinary underware.
Same line of BS, different war. I guess a leopard can't change his spots. Kerry and moveon.org, a great combination for running down our military and giving aid and comfort to the enemy. I can't wait for the day they all go down the toilet where they belong.
I just want to know who blabbed?
Suppose Kerry would have known this if had bothered to go to his day job once in awhile?
Yeah,.....Mike just briefed some senior NCO's heading to Iraq on what to expect last weekend.......a lot of these new call ups will be for the 4th rotation.
"With all due respect to the president, has he turned on the evening news lately? Does he read the newspapers?"
I'm sure the President has a few reliable sources of information that don't include a bunch of leftist bloviators.
ok, the whitehouse has to compare Kerry to Moore. We need 'ol press secretary to say this:
"I refuse to comment on John Kerry's baseless and irresponsible conspiracy theories. I don't think the American people want a Michael Moore as President."
heh heh. it's a winner. someone pass it to the white house.
