Police Union Backs Bush After Kerry Snub
The nation's largest police union, the Fraternal Order of Police, has endorsed President Bush after being insulted by Sen. John Kerry.
"This is the first time in the group's history that it has made a unanimous endorsement," FOP Executive Director Jim Pasco told Washington, D.C.'s Hill newspaper.
"Not only are we strongly supporting Bush, we're mad at Kerry," he explained. "Our members feel he treated them without respect - 318,000 cops."
Turns out the FOP sent the Kerry campaign a questionnaire to sound out the candidate's views, but he ignored it.
"He's galvanized our base against him," Pasco said. "It's just stupid."
Luckily for Kerry, his FOP snub and the group's decision to back Bush drew hardly any press coverage.
"The news media intentionally or unintentionally ignored this important endorsement by our nation's law enforcement community," complained Jim Kouri, vice president of the National Association of Chiefs of Police.
When the international firefighters union endorsed John Kerry, he noted, "the news media could hardly hold back their excitement when making the announcement."

But according to Kerry, the Police hate that the AWB has expired and hate the president because he didn't work hard enough to renew it...

The poodle says a lot of things. I wonder if Mrs Kerry ever lets her poople talk? He sure does a lot of it when he is away from her.
Can you imagine being trapped in a room with him? What a bore and pompous ass he would be.
I dont think the police unions compare to other like temasters, IAM, AFCLCIO.
That said, I think they would have backed Bush no matter who opposed him this election.
sKerry was for terrorism being treated as a law enforcement issue before he was against law enforcement officers.

The FOP is a union that leans to the left; much more so than the general police population. That the FOP actually endorsed Bush over a Democrat is very funny (and bad news for Kerry)!
I think people are paying attention and they are seeing sKerry is a loser.
I don't understand why firefighters unions so actively support Democrat candidates. I won't give to their charity events and tell them openly why not. I just hope that my house doesn't burn down. I always support the Police Guilds and actively give to their charitable causes.
Last week I had someone fundraising for the firefighters. I told them I would be happy to give the minute their union started endorsing/supporting bi-partisanshiply (at least). He was not very happy with my response.
The democrat party thinks it has pretty much sewn up forever the black & unions votes. I hope this piece hurts them BIGTIME and that it follows suits into all of union country!!
The endorsement was 7 days ago and still no MSM coverage.
