A spirited debate on presidential politics aboard an Alaska-bound airplane has turned into an international incident, and left a Huntington Station retiree locked up in a Canadian jail on criminal charges, authorities said yesterday.
Michael Husar, 58, was arrested Friday after allegedly having an alcohol-induced bout of air rage aboard a Northwest Airlines flight to Anchorage, which was diverted to Winnipeg, Manitoba, because of the incident.

"Don't you [*hic*] know who I am?"
No class.
Can they hold this idiot until November 3rd?
I hope the young lady sues the creep for assault for continually touching &/or poking her. That's a no-no in everybodies book!
Kerry's so desperate for votes, he's sending the guy an absentee ballot.
So he's a "very patriotic" veteran, according to his wife.
1) Who the hell questioned his patriotism?
2) What does the fact that he is a veteran have to do with anything?
No wonder he's a Kerry supporter. He has the same knee-jerk reaction to anybody who dares to question his actions.
Can you sue a liberal for sexual assault? Aren't they ordained to define/redefine what is sexual assault and what isn't? And don't they have monopoly on victimhood?
Hotel rooms are very affordable and when you pay in American dollars, the change you get will allow you to dine out in a nice variety of places serving ethnic fare or standard hearty prairie province fare. There is even a fair-sized French section of town for Kerry supporters to feel welcomed.
Booze, cigarettes and gasoline are a bit expensive due to the high taxes, but all-in-all, I would recommend it highly as an election day destination for all Kerry supporters. Do make sure you get there the night before because hotel rooms might get a bit scarce if you wait until election night.
I don't think you understand. He behaved the way he did because he couldn't help it. He's a veteran.

Idiots for Kerry, tend to become irrational when confronted with the truth. Don't blame the innocent booze.
I've read the whole thread, and not one person commented on the hillariousness of two Americans getting into a political spat, and one of them gets locked up in CANADA.
I have no answers, but,, WOW!! does that ever ring true!
Actually, the article didn't say he was poking her. Just touching as he spoke. I don't like that either, but it would be considered a crime, as he was not even arrested for assault.
The woman also did not like that Husar would touch her leg and shoulder when he spoke to her, authorities said. Corona said Husar had "had a few drinks."
He was arrested for causing a disturbance and criminal mischief. LOL. Landing are aircraft over this, calling it an emergency, is laughable.
Er, but it wouldn't be considered a crime.......
Ridd said the pilot deemed the situation "a minor emergency" and called for an abrupt landing. An armed marshal sat next to Husar until the plane reached a Winnipeg airport, where Husar was kicked off and promptly arrested.
Whether or not it's a crime doesn't depend on whether or not he was charged. If that were the case, everyone charged with a crime would, by definition, be guilty.
