I'm not sure if this flyer is actual a real thing, or if someone has been putting them up as a hoax - either way, I think some of the language used is hilarious...

"Diversity will be the watchword for Cal Anderson Park: All undocumented citizens of the World, the homeless, Alcohol Challenged, Drug Affected, Previously Incarcerated, Health Challenged, and all others who are victimized by the Global Consumer Imperative will be welcomed here"

Apparently this is a project that is being run in coordination with Seattle Central Community College, which is quoted in this flyer thusly: "The Seattle Central Community College believes in the beautiful diversity of the Human Race and opens its arms to embrace in full the multihued Rainbow of Humanity"

Anyway, I thought I would pass this along for everyone to read, and maybe have a chuckle or two... unless you happen to be one of the ones in Seattle paying taxes so that residents of "Tent City 5" can enjoy "showers, pools, racquetball/squash courts, basketball courts, weight rooms, indoor track, pool tables, free personal trainers, computer classes" etc...

And remember, in the immortal words of the SHARE/WHEEL folks: "They are refugees from the Class war of Corporate capitalism. They are the working class victims of a suicide economy that kills its wounded."

You have got to be kidding. Please do NOT send this to the mayor of Bellingham, thank you!

No worries there - that doesn't mean they won't try it there eventually ;0)

This just makes me want to hold hands with everyone, and give all my belongings to the homeless.

It makes me want to run out and be as politically incorrect as possible...

Ya know, like I am at work when some lady is pushing a big server rack down the hallway, and in passing I say "Hey! Nice rack!"

My favorite here is “alcohol challenged.”

I'd get all misty, too, if I knew what the heck a "Glbal Consumer Imperative" is.

Maybe I didn't go to the right schools?

The Global Consumer Imperative™ drove them to it.

I wasn't sure if that long description was an "all together" kinda thing, or if they were categories... I mean, how many Homeless Alcohol Challenged, Drug Affected, Previously Incarcerated, Health Challenged Global Consumer Imperative Victims can there be? I'd hate to be THAT guy.

Well, I guess it's a new thing. It replaced "The Man".

Well, maybe "The Man" just changed his name because it wasn't politically correct?

It would be interesting if someone set up live web cams to monitor these "wayward folks".

My favorite here is “alcohol challenged.”

Soon to be superseded by "Victims of over-serving".
