IDF soldiers from the Golani Brigade's Egoz unit arrested a senior member of the Islamic Jihad Tuesday afternoon.
In an operation in the Nur a-Shams refugee camp in Tulkarm, IDF soldiers surrounded the house in which the fugitive was hiding. He was wounded in a gunfire battle tht erupted between the soldiers and the people in the house, Army Radio reported.
The man came out of the house and surrended to military forces after he was wounded.
Earlier, a special Border Police unit arrested a Hamas fugitive in the camp.
Overnight Monday, soldiers arrested an Islamic Jihad member south of the Kissufim Crossing in the Gaza strip.
IDF troops meanwhile carried out a number of arrests overnight. In the West Bank security forces arrested 13 Palestinian fugitives in villages in the Jenin and Ramallah areas, as well as inside Nablus and Hebron.
