CBS Evening News trots out new experts, continues its defense

Posted on 09/13/2004 3:59:45 PM PDT by IM4TRUTH

Dan Rather just gave another passionate defense of CBS's fradulent stories, including a couple of new "experts." I guess this proves that you can buy just about any expert opinion you want.

Dan's expert focused on the old typewriter convention of using the lower-case "l" as the numeral "1," stating it would be almost impossible to do this on a computer. A second expert pointed out the inconsistencies between the "111th" using superscript "th" at one point while using a regular-sized "th" at another point. The "expert" went through how one would have to backspace and retype the "th" to fool the auto-text feature, as if this were some gargantuan task no normal person would undertake. (CBS did not address why the late LTC was typing his memo on a $15,000 typesetter.)

CBS is now in the position of trying to prove the documents are genuine, while ignoring 95% of the arguments against their INauthenticity.

Gotta love it.

Ummm... all you have to do to fool the auto-superscript is place a space between the number and the "th" - which shows up frequently in these documents. And it is very simple to use a lowercase "L" as a number 1 - that is just an asinine statement. Gotta love these "experts" - I hope they are independently wealthy, because their reputations just went down the toilet...

Actually this should be real simple to prove. All CBS has to do is trot out the thousands of other documents that Col Killian typed on his expensive "typewriter". They must be present in the records of the 111 th FIS. Slam dunk for Gunga Dan.

Every time he has to trot out experts it's because the truth keeps smacking CBS against the face. They got caught making a news story with FORGED documents and now they are compounding their fraud by denying the truth.

I just wrote another scathing letter that I faxed to CBS. I just sent another scating e-mail, and I called and left a really scathing message at CBS. WHAT ELSE CAN WE DO? I'm serious, I will do anything it takes to get to the truth. We cannot let this go away and we cannot let CBS get away with this blatent lie and bias.

what's so hard about typing a "l"?

It's perfectly simple to do on a computer - and the reason it's done on a computer is to fool the auto-superscript feature (i.e., so Word won't think you're typing a number therefore it won't superscript the "th" following the '11l' or 'l11').

Yes, it's quite impossible to use the lower case "L" to represent the lllth division, as opposed to the 111th. Nobody with a computer could possibly type in lllth.

I'm sure that all 26 people that watch the CBS Evening News were extremely impressed by Dandy Dan tonight.

So, if I understand this, they are arguing that it couldn't be the work of a computer because sometimes the document has a superscript th and sometimes you don't.

1. Does this somehow change the fact about the presence of a superscript?

2. Do these folks know how easy it is to back up and override autotext?

Actually, CBS wants to trot out competing theories and experts to muddy up the waters and make the Sheeple confused.

They may well succeed.

The real point, I think, is CBS has to do much more than argue that they could have been made by Killian. They must prove that they actually were written by Killian.
