Three years after an unthinkable Tuesday morning of a sunny New York September, it is today plain that we are living through an extraordinarily epochal moment in the world's history, one that scholars of the future will view as having marked a great eruption in tide and time. Here is nothing less than total war between cultures and civilizations. It might as well be a collision of planetary bodies. Indeed, the deranged Islamic fanatics who seek to drag all humankind back into the primordial swamps might as well be invaders from some distant dark star. They are that unlike the rest of us.
For three years, it has been incorrect to offend the sensitivities of the planet's many millions of decent and peaceable Muslims, but let there be no more niceties: In our time, there is a clear and present Islamic menace unleashed upon the globe, an attack by Muslim maniacs who have hijacked their religion in the name of death and destruction and who are bent on unremitting slaughter.
Their psychotic brand of Islam must be crushed - by force of arms on the one hand, and on the other by the moral righteousness of sane Muslims all the world over who grow daily sicker of the horrors they see with their own eyes.
It has been lamented that far too few Muslim leaders have seemed willing to condemn very emphatically the far too many atrocities - the Balis, the Madrids. But in the wake of the Russian schoolhouse horror, beyond all sense, beyond all comprehension - children tortured, children blinded, children shot in the back - there are signs that hard truths are being faced. "Not all Muslims are terrorists," grieves one prominent Muslim journalist in the London newspaper Al Sharq al-Awsat, "but it is equally certain, and exceptionally painful, that almost all terrorists are Muslims." That is the fact of the matter. It must be confronted, without apology, without remorse.

Whenever I see something from the Daily News these days, it looks like they have turned more toward our side. Haven't they usually been reliably liberal? Since the advent of Murdoch at The Post, I haven't paid much attention to them.
What about Barney Frank?
Editor's note: The above phrase must be used in all articles speaking of Muslim terrorists.
The truth.
A-MEN.
"In our time, there is a clear and present Islamic menace unleashed upon the globe, an attack by Muslim maniacs who have hijacked their religion in the name of death and destruction and who are bent on unremitting slaughter."
I don't believe that Islam has been 'hijacked'.
Islam is not a Religion it is a "religion--that is it is of the earth, it is NOT Divinely inspired.
Islam is so steeped in hating the 'other' by the VERY WORDS OF THE 'PROPHET' that even those who have no impulse to jihad can't oppose those who do.
If this glorified cult of hatred saw the thir prophet being used AGAINST the meaning of his own life they would do everything in their power to destroy the radicals. The very words of the son of God, Jesus Christ, would be the FIRST resort of Christians who saw Him being 'hijacked'.
You CAN'T use the words of muhammad because he was a political, murderous, hate-filled rapist pedophile.]
Islam cannot enoble, it is of this earth. It is made up in the mind of a man--and not a good one at that.
Fight them now, fight them later but FIGHT THEM you will.
Since the advent of Murdoch at the Post they've see their market share slip.
I thought so. Just my informal calculation based on N/R subway line readership.
I don't either. I believe "Islam" is a plague. Has been and always will be.
They got some sensible people there. I don't know how they were like 3 years back but it's no NY Times lol.
