The CBS FraudGate episode once again has proven how important FR is to the conservative cause. Although blogs are taking credit for it, all here know the investigation was started on the Forum before the CBS program had ended, most of the blogs were merely picking up on the information posted here.

Free Republic has always been supported by it's fans and readers. It takes no advertising, has no sugar daddies and is beholden to no one. Jim has always stated he will keep this thing going as long as the participants believe it is worthwhile. To pay the bills, a fine group of people run a quarterly "FReepathon". They can run up to several weeks, divert our attention and are labor intensive.

You can help put FR on a solid financial basis by signing up as monthly donor. Whether you are new participant, have never supported FR or have regularly contributed quarterly, please consider becoming a "monthly". Five or ten dollars a month via credit card can be a painless way to insure the long term health of this site. Don't you thnk Free Republic is worth it?

All FR needs is about 500-700 more people donating $10 /month and FReepathons are a thing of the past!

Ed Reform and I have been posting replies around the board this morning asking people to please consider donating monthly to Free Republic.

What happened to CBS would not have happened if Free Republic had not been here!

Would any new monthly donors please notify Rotti Biz and Jim Robinson that they are new montly donors.

I like the freepathon's better. That way a lot of people who can't afford monthly donations can make a one time donation and FR is then supported by many and not the few who donate monthly.

Plus, this month and this month only my credit card wants me to spend and is giving 5% cash back instead of 1%.

So when is the next freepathon anyway ?

There is an authentic Bush document from that period with a superscript, as well. See here. Look on page 3, line 2.

But also note, that the font is evenly spaced, not proportional. I do recall working on an old Olivetti machine in 1978 that had a (1/2, 1/4) and a (st, th) key. Note, also, that this puts the superscripted characters on the center of the same line, so it is a completely different font and arrangement than the obviously fraudulent CBS documents.

The lefties will claim that this document shows that the CBS documents could be real. But careful examination shows that this document and this superscript has no resemblence whatsoever to the CBS documents, and that this still does not address the issue of the proportional fonts, the raised superscriopt, the auto formatting, the numerous style errors or the adjustable line pitch. So don't let them get away with it!

I try to donate at least equal to that monthly amount.

But my very meager and very erratic 'income' from kind gifts and teaching one class a semester makes it overly difficult to be locked into a rigid monthly subtraction.

I do cheer all on to that rather minimal ideal, though.

The issue was brought up on another thread that given the number of hits it's slow NOW.

Do we need to add a server or 3 to handle things between now and the election when it will get many times worse???
