Wasn't CBS a broadcast network at one time?

He is. He's saying its not Kerry personally that would cause the attack, simply that we'd be more vulnerable. Totally true and acceptable statement.

Ah..I've been wondering if that's what he really said. Too many accusations and scandals to follow.

I'll need to see this from a more credible news organization like Pravda or Debka.

See BS's reputation and credibility is in tatters. As far as I'm concerned, they are not a legitimate news source.

I, like the majority of Americans (polled), think we would be MORE LIKELY to be attacked under a 'wait-for-them' policy (a la Jean-Fraude) rather than a 'go get em' (W's) policy.

SeeBS took the statment out of context- he said IF were were attacked Kerry would handle it wrong.

They made it sound like he said we would be attacked IF kerry was elected.

FOXNEWS has the FULL audio of his complete remark

His statement at the time was not really clear. A person could have taken what he said either way depending on their point of view. As soon as I heard him say it, it was clear to me that he was going to be attacked for what he said.

Well, if Cheney won't say it I will. If JFK gets elected the US will be hit by another terrorist attack. I said it, I believe it, and if anybody wants me to take it back, it aint going to happen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and he should never say anything that the MSM/Dims would attack right?

When Cheney says "hello" to someone the left says that he is out of line.

He should NEVER have apologized.

And to CBS...shut up you asswipes! You should be banned from even covering this election after memogate!

Perceiving (correctly) that if Kerry should become President, not much would impede their attack, Islamic jihad warriors will strike again at a "soft" target here in the US. What is 100% certain, is that they are planning some attack, or series of attacks, right now.

Of course the dems are going to attack him. That's what they do! But this wasn't one of his clearest statements and I think it was made at the end of a long day of campaigning. If one puts it into context of everything else he's said on this subject, his message should have been clear enough. But that exact statement wasn't. The dems are waiting attack dogs. I'm not attacking Cheney. It just wasn't his best moment. And I haven't seen many of those. I personally can't wait until he debates Edwards. Edwards isn't a bad speaker either, but Cheney has a quiet assuredness that should allow him to mop the floor with the kid.

CNN should be ashamed of themselves for reporting their version of VP Cheney's comments. Sleazeball Begala stooped so low as to cut off the video clip to leave off the end of Cheney's sentence, thereby changing the meaning entirely. Judy Woodruff did nearly the same thing.

These people have no shame.
