Rounding up all illegals 'not realistic'
The Washington Times ^ | September 10, 2004 | Jerry Seper

Posted on 09/10/2004 5:00:30 AM PDT by MikeJ75

The nation's border czar yesterday said it is "not realistic" to think that law-enforcement authorities can arrest or deport the millions of illegal aliens now in the United States and does not think the American public has the "will ... to uproot" those aliens.

He is technically accurate. We cannot round up ALL of the illegals. How about 90%, Mr. Homeland Security Czar?

You don't have to round them all up. You round up bunches and send them back. Show it on tv...maybe a weekly round up of how many were sent back or something.
Screw hearings and appeals. Just send them back and let them appeal from Mexico or El Whereverthehell.
You WILL send the right message and you WILL make an impression.
To simply throw up your hands and say there's "no will" is irresponsible and an invitation for more to come in.

Start prosecuting, fining and checking the tax records of employers who hire illegals and their jobs will dry up overnight. When that happens the illegals will deport themselves in no time at all at their own expense.

I have seen the INS deport Europeans, and would like to know what makes the Mexicans so special that they should not be deported?

If we have the money and technology to explore Mars and Saturn and to find a couple mad cows, we can certainly round up every last illegal and drop them in a remote desert in Mexico.

Start with rounding up the employers of illegals,

then the illegals will be easy to spot congregating at the soup kitchens, and government aid offices.

Put the nation's school busses to work hauling them back to the southern US border.

Comprende ?? Adios.

There is no need to round anyone up.

Just tell them that the social security numbers they have submitted are invalid, and do not match their names, so they cannot work.

When they cannot find work, most of them will leave the country on their own accord.

.........................................................

You're right!

Too much money being made, too many bureaucrats with cushy jobs because of the illegals.

Unless or until that changes, not much will be done.

Regional holding facilities (don't have to be fancy), each served by a DC3. When a DC3 load accumulates, it flies the load to a central hold location on the border. The central location on the border has a fleet of buses that run a distance into Mexico, where the load is dropped off.

If Mexico protests, we can offer to turn their country into a ceramic bowl.

I don't see any aspect of it hard to do, or particularly expensive.

Nonsense! And it isn't a mater of law enforcement "rounding them up." It's a matter of denying them jobs and services if they cannot prove that they're either citizens or legally here. Very simple. Not a day goes by for most of these people that they don't have to interact with the same realities that we do. What about connecting utility services? Signing a lease? Opening a bank account? Going to a doctor? Filling a prescription? Applying for food stamps? These things, and many more, are things that American citizens can't do without proving who we are. Why the h*ll should illegals be able to get away with stuff that citizens can't?

It's not like law enforcement has to go around and root them out and round them up. Just allow the people to restrict their access to these services and when they try and access them, then have them picked up and shipped out, along with getting a history on file that would prevent these same people from entering legally in the future without going to the end of the immigration line, or even to the end of a guest worker line. It'd be a heck of a lot cheaper than footing the bills for them here. It is high time we quit rewarding criminal behavior. Besides, if the free milk from the golden cow dried up, just maybe they'd get out on their own.
