Valley Widow Casts Doubts on Bush Memos

The widow of a Texas Air National Guard officer casts doubts on the validity of new documents critical of President George W. Bush’s service during Vietnam. Rio Grande Valley resident Marjorie Connell Marjorie Connell said she is angry that her late husband, Col. Jerry Killian, is being used to attack the president. Wednesday night, the CBS interview program 60 Minutes published what it called “previously unseen documents from Killian's personal file.” "I was angry,” Connell told ABC in a radio interview. “Because here they are going back and pulling records of a man who is deceased twenty years, who is not here to explain what any of these documents said or supposed to have said, and I just found it appalling. I was sick that here without warning his pictures are up there, his name is being battled back and forth and I, livid I guess is a better word for it. “I think there was so much untruths being said that that frustrated me and that I knew that if Jerry were alive today that he would just, number one he would be turning over in his grave to know that a document such as this would be used against a fellow guardsman," Connell added. In her interview, Connell specifically takes to task unsigned memos where Killian alleges that the commanding officer of the Texas Air National Guard, Col. Buck Staudt, attempted to “sugar coat” then Lt. Bush’s job performance. "Number one, he would not have typed because he did not type,” Connell said. “Number two, the wording in these documents is very suspect to me. I just don't believe that, it looks like some things may have been picked up out of a document and then other things just made fictitiously to fill in things, to make them flow. I just can't believe that this is his words, my late husband's words." Mrs. Connell declined an on-camera interview with NEWSCHANNEL 5 this evening.

"--yelling 'Hey, Get me out of this box!'"

Okay. Now that's a funny slip.

We now return you to the collapse of the Kerry Kampaign.

This proves what the former See BS journalist said in his book (I think his name was Goldberg??)when he blew the lid on the liberal bias at CBS.
The whole problem for Dan Rather is that he totally failed as a journalist by not going to the widow, son, etc for the other side. He WANTED it to be true, so he ignored the signs that it was false.
This will decimate the Kerry camp...AND the mainstream media!

We have just witnessed an out and out fraud by a major network, committed against the American people and a President on the eve of an election. How many democrats showed themselves as total fools today, ranting based only on See BS that the President had "disobeyed his superior's direct order."? This was nothing less than an attempt to bring down our government with false evidence.

You're absolutely right! The question is...are the MSM going to try to salvage whatever credibility they have left? Or are they going to ignore it and hope it goes away...even though they know that they are no longer the only game in town.
I suspect that this story WILL have legs because the media ALWAYS likes to report on scandals..even when it is one of their own.
