IDF forces on Tuesday afternoon discovered a seven-kilogram ready-to-use explosive belt in the Palestinian village of Silat A-Dacher, northeast of Nablus near the settlement of Homesh.
Security officials said two fugitives arrested in the village by soldiers from the Haruv Battalion disclosed the whereabouts of the belt while being questioned.
The fugitives planned to launch an attack within the next few days against Israeli targets using the bomb belt, the officials said.
The suicide-bomb belt was exploded in a controlled detonation by Border Police sappers.
Meanwhile, in south Gaza, near Rafah, IDF soldiers blew up a bomb found by troops in the area. In the West Bank, IDF sappers blew up two pipe bombs that were placed on Road 60, near al-Hader, west of Bethlehem.
