Kelly Continues Legacy of Bogus Muckraking

Something to Yak About – Kelly Continues Legacy of Bogus Muckraking
Hey – everyone’s entitled to a mistake now and again, right? But what’s up with perennially discredited muckraker Kitty Kelly? Her latest diatribe, a smear job on the President, the First Lady and just about anyone named Bush, is even less credible than some her more notorious failures. In some of her screeds masquerading as biography, Kelly has tried to advance more than a few certifiable Tin Foil Hat theories including the one about Jackie Kennedy undergoing electro-shock and another accusing President Reagan of rape. Next thing you know, Kitty will report that The Yak was in on faking the moon landing.

Kelly Critics Blast Error-Filled Tomes
Just for the moment, let’s forget what the targets of Kitty Kelly’s scorched earth Shinola have to say and take a look at the observations of other writers. Howell Raines of New York Times fame called Kelly’s 1991 book on Nancy Reagan “the unproven claims of a writer whose way of making a living is writing unauthorized biographies,” while Joe Klein called the Nancy Reagan book, “trashy,” and Jonathan Alter called it, “salacious.” ‘nuf sed.

The Kerry Campaign’s Wrong Spin At the Wrong Time
There’s been a staff shake up at the foundering Kerry campaign, but it doesn’t seem to have helped much. The Gang That Couldn’t Spin Straight now seems to be glomming on to Howard “I Have a Scream” Dean’s old talking points on Iraq, with John Kerry now calling the war to oust Saddam Hussein, ”the wrong war at the wrong time.” That’s pretty much what Dean was doing back in February 2003 when he was busy becoming the new darling of the extreme left. Just how many positions on Iraq can John Kerry stake out?

And Speaking Of Iraq…
It’s a tough job but somebody’s got to do it. We’re talking about keeping tabs on the continuing evolution of John Kerry’s position on Iraq. This week, we think he’s against it. At least we’re pretty sure he was when we wrote this. Want the details so far? Visit KerryOnIraq.com and view the documentary yourself. It’s all John Kerry, all the time.

Can Clinton Heavies Rescue Kerry?
The Kerry campaign is hoping to grab a life preserver in the persons of former Clinton operatives James Carville, Paul Begala and Joe Lockhart, but will it make any difference? Dems would like us to believe the Kerry campaign shake up is just the tonic needed by the Gentleman from Massachusetts, but even Carville and Begala say it’s the candidate that counts, not the spin doctors.

From The Hill To The Garden And Back Again
Ya, we’re back from the big RNC at MSG in NYC after a little R and R. But enough with the acronyms. Call Radio Services at the Republican National Committee now at 202-863-8614 and we will do our level best to rock your world.

Talkers Profile – Steve Gill, WWTN/Nashville
“Steve Gill is an attorney and host of the most influential talk show in middle Tennessee. Business Tennessee recently named him among the "100 Most Powerful People in Tennessee" (#34) and Nashville Post business magazine has twice recognized him as the most powerful media personality in middle Tennessee He received 2000 and 2002 AIR (Achievement in Radio) Awards as the Best Talk Host in the Nashville market and has twice received recognition as a Hero of the Taxpayers from Americans for Tax Reform for his leadership in opposing a state income tax in Tennessee.” (SOURCE: Supertalk 99.7 WTN)

The Final Yak
“My opponent and I have different approaches. I proposed, and the Congress overwhelmingly passed, 87 billion dollars in funding needed by our troops doing battle in Afghanistan and Iraq. My opponent and his running mate voted against this money for bullets, and fuel, and vehicles, and body armor. When asked to explain his vote, the Senator said, ‘I actually did vote for the 87 billion dollars before I voted against it.’ Then he said he was ‘proud’ of that vote. Then, when pressed, he said it was a ‘complicated’ matter. There is nothing complicated about supporting our troops in combat.” (SOURCE: President Bush, acceptance speech, Sept. 2, 2004)

This is a woman who wrote a 650 page book about Frank Sinatra that mentions virtually nothing about his connections to the Mob.

Very credible.

Well I hope Sharon Bush got paid plenty by KK for her lies. Gampy Bush is (was?) paying for her house. Told her he would do it for 5 years. but she was going to need to find some sort of employment when the children reached 18. It's 3 1/2 and counting. She is still really pissed about the divorce.

Rense.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sharon Bush Plans Tell-All Book About Bush Family Drudge Report.com 4-16-3 Sharon Bush is planning to write a tell all on the Bush family, The New York Observer is reporting exclusively in Wednesday's paper. Sharon Bush, the estranged wife of President George W. Bush's younger brother, Neil Bush, has spent two decades with the Bush family. Sharon Bush's spokesman, Lou Colasuonno, told The Observer: "This will be the story of Sharon Bush's life inside one of the most powerful families in America. She witnessed the evolution of a dynasty. She believes, and is prepared to reveal in her book, that the Bushes are far more pragmatic and calculating than has ever been seen before. She will show that the family orchestrates its public image from top to bottom. She will reveal that the family is in essence a political operation." Ms. Bush is currently working on her proposal and is pitching her idea in Manhattan publishing circles. She recently met extensively with renowned biographer Kitty Kelley, who is working on her own book on the Bushes. They discussed the possibility of Sharon Bush becoming a key inside source for Kitty Kelley, which would be a huge boost for Kelley's long awaited book. Kelley's agent, Wayne Kabak, of William Morris Agency, told the Observer: "Kitty had a very long lunch with Sharon, and a great deal of information was put on the table. They talked about the possibility of Sharon writing her own book, as well as about the possibility of Sharon further cooperating with Kitty's book in the future." Sharon Bush is in the midst of a nasty divorce with Neil Bush. The Observer has also obtained excerpts of a deposition given by Neil Bush on March 4. In the deposition, Neil Bush candidly discusses his extramarital affair with Maria Andrews, a former assistant to Barbara Bush. He also discusses his own marriage. In the deposition, Neil Bush says: "I threw myself at the mercy of this counseling and have -- have reached the conclusion that it is irresolvable, that our marriage has been broken," Mr. Bush said. "It's loveless. And there's nothing left to it. And there hasn't been for a long, long time. There's no affection. There's been very little sexual activity over the past 10 or 12 years....Sorry if marriages fail. And I'm -- I'm sorry ours is one of those." Sharon Bush is despondent over her treatment at the hands of the Bush family, her associates say. In the book, she hopes to show that Barabara Bush has exercised a good deal more control over the family than previously revealed. She also wants to show that the relationship between the Bush brothers, as well as relations between the President and former President, have been more fraught and complex than previously known, her associates say. Mr. Colasuonno told The Observer: "This is a woman who has had some wonderful times with the Bushes and knows she's fortunate to have had a close-up view of two Presidencies. But she has seen the dark side, too. And she intends to provide a view of the family that everyone will want to read." Developing

Gampy is not going to be happy

I wonder how long Barbara Bush will remain quiet about KK's book when she finds out that her husband is accused of sexually abusing minor children and her son is accused of use coke at Camp David some years after he quit drinking cold turkey and found the Lord. Also, isn't Barbara herself basically called a witch? Me thinks Kitty has just falsely attacked the wrong woman and her family!

she says came another shock in divorce court, her settlement. Although she agreed to it, she now claims she was pressured into signing it.

It requires her and her children to move out of their longtime home so it can be sold. Of what's left after lawyers and bills are paid, Sharon gets 75 percent. She also is getting alimony, about $30,000 a year, but that ends after four years when all her children are 18.

Sharon says that what she really wanted for her children was a little more time. In a letter, she says, she appealed to George Sr., whom she affectionately called "Gampy," for help, asking him to help her stay in the house with the children for just another four years.

"It would give me the opportunity to raise my children in the house that they have grown accustomed to and lived in for the last 10 years," she says.

George Sr. declined to comment to the CBS affiliate. But Sharon says in an email back to her, the former president said that he couldn't go against Neil's wishes, and the court had already ordered that the house be sold to pay the couple's debts.

He wrote, "I do believe the kids would happily adjust to a new house, even if it is not as grand as the one you are now living in." He also told her to "forget the past with Neil…find a job, and look to the future not the past."

He is helping provide her another house, but only to stay in while her children are still living with her. In five years, she'll have to pay the bills herself or move.

So this stay-at-home mom is preparing to look for a job. The former teacher says, “Not in my wildest dreams would I have imagined it, or I would have prepared myself more.”

Neil Bush again would not comment to the CBS affiliate, but in e-mails last year to his wife, he expressed concern for her welfare, saying, "My goal continues to be to work with you to get you settled."

His attorney describes that settlement as both "fair and generous."But Sharon Bush's attorneys say bills and legal fees may consume much of her savings. All in all, she says, it's not what she expected out of a life lived with the Bush family.

She says, “I thought for sure, I mean, I believed the family values, and I lived the family values."

Some lawyers told CBS News that some of the terms of the agreement are more favorable than required by Texas law, including the child support being paid by Neil Bush: $1,500 a month for the two minor children until they turn 18.

this is from July 2003.

Barbara is not going to take this laying down, and Laura will probably go ballistic. I wonder if KK has good lawyers. she's going to need them.

I think whatever they can do to go after KK they should; On Nov 3.
Bringing anything up now will just boost interest in this bovine feces diatribe which KK, acting like the 7th grader who never grew up, cannot live without.

"...not what she expected out of a life lived with the Bush family." Sounds like she married for money. Guess the gravy train stops here. Like GHW Bush said, "Get a job!"

Heads up on this: Hannity just announced that the "Today Show" is going to give KK a segment in the upcoming week on the book.
Could backfire.
Cutie Katie was none too friendly to Michael Moron when he showed up when she got back from Athens. (but that could have been jet-lag).

Yes, I heard that.

Kitty (meow, what a perfect name) also did a big hatchet job on the Royals and Jackie.

We need to take a clue from the Royals and Jackie. Don't dignify anything with a comment. My bet is that's the way the Bush's will handle it. It's called CLASS. Something of which the dims know knowing.

We can only hope they sue her. Bush 41 sexually abusing minor children? Give me a break! Larry King said he will not have her on his show due to her book. I read that, not sure if it's true or not. You can bet she will be with Chris Matthews and perky Katie. What a disgusting b*tch she is.

I hope this is one time that KK gets what she deserves. I can't remember if Frnk Senatra went after her over her lie about him and Nancy. I think she had to do a retraction on that.
