Cleric supports targeting children By Rajeev Syal (Filed: 05/09/2004)

An extremist Islamic cleric based in Britain said yesterday that he would support hostage-taking at British schools if carried out by terrorists with a just cause.

Omar Bakri Mohammed, the spiritual leader of the extremist sect al-Muhajiroun, said that holding women and children hostage would be a reasonable course of action for a Muslim who has suffered under British rule.

In an interview with The Sunday Telegraph, Mr Mohammed said: "If an Iraqi Muslim carried out an attack like that in Britain, it would be justified because Britain has carried out acts of terrorism in Iraq.

"As long as the Iraqi did not deliberately kill women and children, and they were killed in the crossfire, that would be okay."

Mr Mohammed, 44, who lives in Edmonton, north London, but is originally from Syria, also claimed that the Chechen rebels were not responsible for the deaths of more than 350 people - at least half of them children - who are so far known to have died in Beslan.

"The Mujahideen [Chechen rebels] would not have wanted to kill those people, because it is strictly forbidden as a Muslim to deliberately kill women and children. It is the fault of the Russians," he said.

The father of seven came to Britain in 1985 after being deported from Saudi Arabia because of his membership of a banned group. He has since been given leave by the Home Office to remain in Britain for five years but the Government is reviewing his status.

He gave an interview yesterday to promote a "celebratory" conference in London next Saturday to commemorate the third anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

Andrew Dismore, the Labour MP for Hendon, was infuriated by Mr Mohammed's comments. "That sounds to me like incitement and I will report him to Scotland Yard," he said. "It is an insult to most moderate Muslims, who are sick of people like this claiming to represent them."

This is certainly scary stuff. Fortunately the British don't have the ACLU,
so they'll find it much easier to boot this guy's ass out of the country.
Unfortunately he'll probably move here.
Remember kiddies, those soft and cuddly Chechen "Rebels" didn't want to kill those children,
the Russians made them do it. Talk about a complete detachment from reality.

Why would any sane country allow a person like this nut live in their country. Give him a camel and forty acres and move him out.

Well there is no value to the life of women or children in Radical Islam. They send their young people in strapped with bombs to commit suicide/homicide. When you have no respect for human life - it comes to this. Another reason I am anti-abortion.

He has encouraged Muslims to attack British schools, and he is still breathing. This I do not understand. The British government is afraid of whom exactly? World opinion? Kill the Muslim Maggot!

If I were running England I would find this guy and kill him and stand by my act.

Yeah, yeah, I know, then I would be in really really big trouble with EVERYONE!

What a ball-less world we live in. And STUPID too. Too stupid to survive much longer. Well, it was a nice run. Didn't get anywhere near the run of Rome but hey, can't have everything.

"[I]t is strictly forbidden as a Muslim to deliberately kill women and children."

Do you reckon he had his fingers crossed when he said that? I do not know where to start with rebutting that, but can anyone show me where this bozo condemned the homicide bombings of buses full of Israeli school children? What ever made Al Quaeda think crashing two planes (I suppose with only adult male passengers and crew?) into a large office building would kill no women and children? How can any Muslim distinguish the present Russian school atrocity from the long line of atrocities committed by Muslims against men as well as women and children?

I have always been one to defend the mass of Muslims from blanket anger in response to the acts of extremists. The reaction to this school atrocity has converted me. The Muslims who came out to condemn this attack have no sympathy for the victims, they only fear the negative publicity pictures of dead and maimed children will entail. They felt they were winning the propaganda war with the willing aid of the Western press. This is a massive propaganda setback in their eyes, that's all.

My new attitude: Any Muslim who does not condemn and renounce ALL terrorism is my enemy. Silence is as good as participation in terrorism in my book. Congratulations Al Quaeda, you have won another victory on your way to forcing a final showdown between Islam and the other 5 billion people in this world. I now hate Islam as well.

Islamic hate in the Quran:

Qur’an 9:5 “Fight and kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, take them captive, harass them, lie in wait and ambush them using every stratagem of war.”

Bukhari:V4B52N50“The Prophet said, ‘A single endeavor of fighting in Allah’s Cause is better than the world and whatever is in it.’”

Qur’an 9:112 “The Believers fight in Allah’s Cause, they slay and are slain, kill and are killed.”

Qur’an 9:29 “Fight those who do not believe until they all surrender, paying the protective tax in submission.”

Qur’an 8:39 “Fight them until all opposition ends and all submit to Allah.”

Qur’an 8:39“So fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief [non-Muslims]) and all submit to the religion of Allah alone (in the whole world).

DO NOT BELIEVE THAT THE MUSLUM RELIGION IS PEACEFUL, THAT IS HYPE. MUSLUMS WANT TO KILL US, PERIOD!

I think that the time of people still believing that the Muslim religion is one of peace is over. At least in my house.

"It is an insult to most moderate Muslims, who are sick of people like this claiming to represent them."

Well then let's leave it to them to condemn it.

I'm personally sick of Western secularists leaping to the defense of this apparently gigantic moderate Muslim block, which loathes terrorism as much as we do. Can we get some names and some quotes from them, instead of simply putting the words in their mouths we would like to hear them saying?

Ummm Mr. Dismore, who gives a shiite what doesn't or does insult moderate Muslims. This is about a Cleric living in your country saying it's okay to take children hostage. Quit tip toeing around the Muslims fearing you might insult them by demanding they clean up their religion.

I find it interesting that this "cleric" says that that islam does not support the killing of the innocent yet he is promoting a celebration for the anniversary of September 11. He's as consistant as a Democrat presidential candidate.

In a war without borders, here is an example of the enemy among us. Granted that this is Britain and not the US, however, doesn't this beg the question of whether we should begin to get "out of the box" and ask ourselves, how America would have dealt with this individual 30 years ago, 60 years ago or 100 years ago. How should we deal likd individuals like this now, in five years and in thirty years? Isn't the the time now ripe to rethink much or our mainstream civil liberties and diversity "prevailing wisdom". (Note: "Prevailing wisdom" is not the same thing as "core principles", although leftists will often attempt to blur any distinctions between them.) Is this individual's behavior so different from shouting fire in a theater? Is some speech, perhaps, an act of war or terrorism in its own right?

Also, given the terrorists' penchant for attacking "soft targets" like schools, airplanes and office buildings, is it time to adopt a "no soft targets" doctrine and provide gun training as part of high school curriculum, for example, or as was the case in the colonial US when European settlers were under constant threat of attack from Aboriginal Peoples/American Indians/Native Americans (please select your preferred term), require that law-abiding adults carry a firearm?.

If the world is changing as much as it appears to be, is it time to go back to the first principles of our great nation and then re-examine our secondary assumptions to see if they are still the optimal approach toward achieving those principles? I think that here on FR, we know the answer. Is the time now ripe to begin more dramatically syndicating these ideas among the broader population?

Islam isn't a religion of peace any more than Hitler's Nuremberg rallies were a Tupperware party.
