Mired in False Victimism…

Written by JB Williams

I’m reminded of the early days of labor unions in America, when mob bosses who ran the unions would order hits on small mom and pop merchants in the lower east side, then send bag men out to neighboring merchants to collect “protection” money, offering to protect these folks from similar attacks.

Of course, anyone who refused to pay would be next on the list for a hit until everyone in the neighborhood was paying protection money. This is the early history of “collective bargaining”, the game is called “hurt and rescue”, it is now the nucleus of the DNC strategy, and it is false victimism.

It’s no real surprise that these tactics found their way into the DNC. Though the majority of union employees are not Democrats, the Party remains influenced by union bosses today.

Contrary to Party rhetoric, most Americans are not victims of any sort today, except for those victims of DNC rhetoric…

The whole basis for the Kerry/Edwards campaign is this idea of two Americas’, one of tyrannical moralistic bible-thumpin’ capitalists monsters, and the other, their victims. One America, well aware of the millions liberated by American soldiers around the globe, and one that views the world as yet another victim of America’s tyrannical occupation.

See, in order for a rescue mission to be launched, someone, somewhere, needs to be a victim, and someone needs to be a villain. So begins the demonizing of conservatives.

“Hope is on the way” is the latest catch phrase of the Kerry/Edwards campaign, which translates into, “you are all victims, and we are coming to save you”. This is supposed to conjure an image in our minds, of two knights in shining armor, galloping in on silver steeds, to rescue us, the poor down-trodden victims of capitalist tyrannical abuse.

For some, it does just that, and for these folks, guess what, they are sure enough victims. After years of being told that there is no room at America’s table for them, they have eventually come to believe it. The relentless drum beat of false victimism has taken its toll, and a growing segment of the American population is now willing to trade their freedom, for a few morsels from the table.

It’s not important at all that any of it be true, only that people believe it. If enough people believe it to be true, it will become true, at least for them.

All of a sudden, where there once was only one America free and full of prosperity, now there are two. Where once, people would rather die of starvation than except a hand out, now an endless stream of government handouts begins to sound better and better.

Once accustomed to being hand fed by the government, the cycle is almost complete. The victims have been created, the villain identified, the rescue call has gone out, and it’s all finished but the vote grabbing.

Today, we have American’s living in captivity. People, who once had the heart of a wild lion, now fearing death by starvation if their captors ever decide to stop hand feeding them.

In a country with a 94.5% employment rate, (the best in the world), with home ownership at an all time high, (even among minorities), the DNC has managed to convince these folks that things couldn’t possibly be worse, and that their very existence is in danger, if we don’t call in the Kerry/Edwards Cavalry.

We should forget any thought of addressing our own problems, we shouldn’t even try, according to the DNC we can’t do it anyway, and we shouldn’t have to. Only electing Kerry/Edwards can save us now.

The reasons why John Kerry is unelectable are endless, and in my opinion, he won’t be elected. But something far more dangerous is going on in our country, and left unattended, like most illnesses, it will only get worse.

The idea that America can be boiled down into only two groups of any description is troubling.

We are a nation of individuals, not voting blocks. Those freedoms and liberties guaranteed in our Constitution are guaranteed to individuals, not special interest groups.

The DNC has two supporting groups today, those they have programmed to play victims, and those they have convinced to participate in the process of holding those victims captive.

The latter are well intended in most cases, feeling a respectable sense of obligation to their fellow human beings. But they have been misled and their sincerity and generosity has been exploited.

A few years ago, a neighbor of mine lost his job (during the Clinton administration), two of them in fact. With a family to feed, he took his home lawn mower and hit the streets selling his services. Now, I can mow my own lawn, but I hired him instead, so did a lot of others, and today, he operates several lawn care crews and lives in a home bigger than mine. This is America!

Though the DNC has been successful in convincing a certain segment of the American population that the American Dream is no longer available to them, people by the thousands arrive on our shores every day. With often only the shirts on their backs, unable to even speak a word of English, they learn, and they work and they sacrifice and they succeed in America at an unbelievable rate.

They do this because they only know of one America, the one their parents, or grandparents told them about, where people are free to pursue their dreams, what ever those dreams are, and where all things are possible, regardless of where you came from, or what you are starting with.

This is the America most Republicans see, and that’s because this is the America most Republicans have experienced first hand. This is the real America, home of the brave, not the fearful, land of the free, not of the free ride.

Bush is likely to be re-elected this fall on the single most important issue facing our nation and the world today, the war against terror. But there is at least one more reason why he should be re-elected.

He and his Party represent the true spirit responsible for America’s greatness. A strong, steady, determined, and compassionate spirit, like no other country on earth has ever known.

Yes, much of the world envies our strength and our prosperity, even hates us for it at times, but they are also in one way or another, dependent upon it. This spirit remains the hope of every American, and many people around the globe as well. A better tomorrow is made possible by this spirit, and the actions that spring forth from it.

The era of big government will never be over in America, until the era of false victimism ends first.

Every day marks a new beginning in America, a chance to either control our circumstances, or be controlled by them, a chance to see the opportunities in our challenges, or only the challenges in our opportunities.

This chance is America’s promise. Whether you choose true self reliant freedom and liberty, or government supported false victimism, America will keep its promise, to make it your choice.

Write an e-mail to the craphound John Sweeney at the AFL-CIO and tell him to stop squandering the rank and file's dues money on the Kerry campaign. Union workers vote significantly Republican, yet Mr. Sweeney feels he can divert their wages to campaigns they do not endorse.
