I was on the phone during this, did anyone see/hear it? Was it as bad as it looked? Just from dipping in and out, it seemed angry and, frankly, depressing.
I was coming home after an event with about 200-300 Repubs wildly cheering the commander in chief, so I missed it.
Maybe you can put in a line about Kerry's statement that he has five words to say to America: "This is your wake up call." (hic)
I saw most of it and he changed his position on Iraq once again. If this dude wins America is whack!
Best case, Kerry was running without sleep.
It was ugly.
Kerry looked and acted like a man who knows his days are numbered. He paced up and down nervously, spoke from white cards he had to flip every few minutes, and when every once in a while a discouraging shout was heard in the background, he'd react as if he'd been goosed. He's been busing stooges around for weeks because nobody shows up for his stump speeches. Every few minutes you'd see Edwards in the background as Kerry stomped back and forth. Edwards wore an unnerved look, as if he sensed his hero was coming unglued. Hilarious. And not one word about Vietnam, other than Bush and Cheney were draft dodgers and had no right to be in office and he did.
Yes. that it was. plus alcoholically enhanced insanity, too. yes, it was the insanity part that really gripped me. the guy has gone nuts! I suspect he'll be banging his head on the walls again tonight while Theresa spends another night in the adjoining room.
Actually, I got home not too long ago. This took about 40 minutes.
Darn, I wish I would have seen it. Was this spontaneous? On another thread, someone said they were giving out free tickets everywhere. Not at midnight. This had to be planned.

Edwards is, to me, a total loss as a running mate. He adds absolutely nothing to the ticket. It's as if Kerry listened to a lecture about why Dan Quayle was a poor choice for veep and then chose his own Dan Quayle. (And let's be real, Quayle contributed to Bush 41 losing re-election.)
I saw Kerry doing the card-flipping thing. All I could htink was how small and cramped he looked there on that stage, after Bush looked so presidential and forceful in NYC. The pacing back and forth was distracting.
Does Kerry really bus people in to his speeches? It seems Bush's are well-attended.

I think he was drunk, or maybe just incompetent.
In pictures on another thread, his face was sagging more than usual -- couldn't even lift it with one of his lopsided smiles. Guess he needs another hit of botox!
