It seems all anyone wishes to speak about tonight are the Twins.

Yep. If you watched Arnold light up the house, then the giggling twins .... I was embarrassing

They're almost 23, for crying out loud.

That's exactly what my husband said... they're just 22-year-old kids!

People would've been upset if the Bush twins had been all stuffy; they're upset because they weren't.

Demmed if we do and Demmed if we don't.

Most fence-sitters tuned in to watch Arnold, not Laura. After he was done they probably went to bed. Republicans stayed to listen to Laura.

If you wanted to build to a crescendo, you would have had Arnie last. BUT this is not about that. It is about getting the maximum number of people to listen to Arnie. Therefore, the order was right.

The twins are NOT political. They made some jokes which weren't that great, but I think they did better than Bill Frist! LOL! And theier speech was short, and they are not inserting themselves into TV talk shows as spokespeople, unlike the Gore and Kerry girls. They made fun of children cluelessly thinking they could insert themselves into an administration.

Michael Barone thought both Laura and Arnold's speeches conveyed the idea that we are in danger. (A good thing, in my opinion.)

I am now switching off C-SPAN, Fox, MSNBC, and the griping freeper contingent and going to HGTV. That way I won't get in trouble by telling too many freepers to go pound sand. HA!

"Chris Wallace loved the twins!"

I liked it. It was a little korny, but I like that kind of stuff.

Two lovely young ladies. I can see why GWB and Laura are proud to have them as their daughters.

It was no worse than a skit for the Oscars. And those people are actors! Look at it this way: If people turned off after the twins, their lasting image was Arnold. If not, they made the transition from the charisma of Arnold to the sincere confidence of Laura.

When I was 22 I doubted seriously my grandparents knew wnything about sex.
When I ws 45 I found out they not only knew what it was but were still having it in their 80's
Too much information......I liked the 22 year old view better.

I liked her speech. Krystol's comments were even worse.

The media did not find anything of substance in either Laura's speech or the kids. I did.

I think the general public should have gotten the picture that GWB puts his pants on one leg at a time and is human. That he has raised kids and agonized over major policy decisions that he knew had consequences, as opposed to doing nothing at all which had become the norm.

The "duck and cover" desk comments moved me. I think the speech worked. The media neglects the bad perceptions created by themselves over the last four years that infer Bush is aloof and structured.

Karen Hughes, who I believe wrote all of this material, tried to crack that false persona that leftists and to some degree all media has created.

I think it worked quite well. IMO

No Democrat would have the guts to say a fraction of the things Arnold said tonight. I'm proud he is the Governor Of California. What a muscular endorsement of the American Dream and timeless American values. Probably gave the best speech of his life and this one has made him a national figure.
