Some could use a shower.
Have you seen the one the guy in Colonial Heights is building. Its really quite interesting. I saw it once. Its near Temple and Boulevard.
Basement flooded. Again. Only about an inch this time.
Greetings all.
Gaston sure gave me a nice birthday present yesterday. I was supposed to go out to dinner to Strawberry Street Cafe last night. Needless to say, after a 3 hour drive home, that was not on the agenda.
I saw I95 totally under water. THAT freaked me out.
Once I got past the 8" of water on Broad st. right at the Powhite overpass, I was pretty much home free. It just took me 3 hours from the Coliseum area to get to that point.
I certainly hope that Frances is a lady and doesn't show up where she's not wanted.
Thank the good Lord, we had our new roof put on before we went to the beach last week.
Sheesh. What a week and it's only Tuesday. I am glad to hear that everybody seems to be okay. Bottoms Up pizza and Sine are probably not doing too well today.
Lucky you. My dad's basement has 4 feet of water in it.
That forecast track keeps inching northward...
I know. I'm afraid I'm going to lose trees in the next storm. We were lucky with Isabel and Gaston. But I'm not sure how much longer my luck will hold out.
Good luck for next week.
Any takers?
Anyone here want a category 4 or 5 hurricane?
.......
Didn't think so. :)
I used to live in Denbigh, near Mary Immaculate hospital. I seem to remeber some gullywashers there. My wife's sister and her family live off of Oriana Rd near the airport (same general area), and took a beating during Isabel. Maybe next time there's a storm you can go over and visit them.
The protection stops around Denbigh Blvd. - I'm in the good part - Richneck.
Belated Happy Birthday.......sorry your plans got washed out, but glad to hear you're OK. Sorry about all the water in your dad's basement.
I've been digging at my husband about the names of these storms....I know his dad disliked living in Florida after he retired and so moved back to New Hampshire before he passed away - but I didn't know he disliked it that much (Charley) and I always thought my late MIL liked me (Frances)............
I'll have to check it out next time I'm down that way.
Those poor people who were killed last night...at first I thought they were all traffic accidents but tonight find out some of them drowned in their cars or were swept away.
I just heard on WRVA that another person was found in Dinwiddie. That makes the total number of fatalities 7. What a terrible way to die.
