Neighbors guarding neighborhoods with guns in the US would earn them a bullet in the back from the FBI hostage rescue team..or a burned down home..or a few years in jail...for something they'll think of later.

Act with restraint, with consideration to the life and liberty of others, and you may be surprised to learn that your fellow Americans will find sympathy for you. A wise old vet (with a real purple heart) once said that the militias of the American revolution were defending their communities, and their communities actually trusted and supported them. That's how it must be in any future situation where civilian force must be used to protect the homeland.
