Judge Elihu Smails (from "Caddyshack") Buffoon of the Week Award Winner Named

Who? Judge Elihu Smails, the character in the film Caddyshack who asks of the obnoxious but lovable Al Czervick (played by Rodney Dangerfield), “Good Lord, what has this buffoon done now?”

As a special tribute to Judge Smails, every week we will issue this award to the biggest buffoon of the week … the person who, through his or her actions or public statements, has made a buffoon of themselves and everyone associated with them.

Thanks to all the Kerry Crushers who sent in nominations for this week's award.

In a week filled with buffoonish performances by Kerry Kool-Aid defenders, one in particular stands out, mainly because the Kool Aid he drank gets spit out of his mouth when he talks. This week's winner of the Judge Smails Award goes to CHRIS "I SQUAT TO PEE" MATTHEWS

The award is given primarily for his lunatic-like attack on Michelle Malkin who we think held her own. But anyone watching Matthews over the last 2 weeks (we do it for professional reasons, and we very well may be 1/2 of his audience) knows that he has literally become unhinged about the Swifties.

This former speechwriter for Jimmy Carter and Chief of Staff to Tip O'Neill has raised the art of attack journalism to new levels. He will never give Swift Boat supporters any time to answer his questions without jumping down their throats soon after they respond "Well Chris..."

No doubt if the Swiftie coverage lasts much longer, they'll be carting Chrissy off to the rubber room.

But we here at crushkerry.com think we know why Matthews behavior has turned psychotic. He has big time guilt about choosing to go into the Peace Corps instead of Vietnam. The man literally kisses the posterior of John McCain, and just about anybody who served in Vietnam (other than the Swifites). He constantly mentions that he avoided the draft by going to the Peace Corps when on with vets. It's almost like he's unburdening his guilt because inside he thinks he's a coward. Thus, the attack on Kerry, a Democrat like him allows him to go through a catharsis on TV when Kerry's war record is attacked.

Hey, keep it up Chrissy, soon you'll be getting the same 0.0 ratings as John McEnroe, another person known for become unhinged, albeit in a different setting.

Past Winners:

Ted "I Killed a Woman Once" Kennedy
Eddie "UN Inspectors in Florida" Bernice Johnson
Kendrick "Johnny Soprano" Meek
Howard "The Terror Alerts Are Political" Dean Bruce "I'm a Washed Up Bush Hater" Springsteen

At some point, Kerry himself will need to be awarded this "honor" due to his complete and thorough ineptitude in dealing with the Swiftee's allegations. (Not that there's anything wrong with that!)

Given that it would be far too easy, and unfair to other competitors (and because the rest of our site slams him), he is ineligible for the award.

How about a weekly "honorable mention" instead? You can highlight the key blunder of the week (though with so many to chose from, this could be a difficult task...)

C'mon, guys, give Chrissy a break. Have you no compassion for suffers of menstrual stress?

Oh, we gave him a well deserved skewering yesterday. Check out this piece entitled "Max Cleland - John Kerry's Stepin Fetchit"

Maybe Lanny Davis can get an honorable mention too.

From the Novak Column today:

"I was astonished by Kerry's version" (in his book, "Tour of Duty") of what happened Dec. 2, Schachte said Thursday. When asked to support the Kerry critics in the Swift boat controversy, Schachte said, "I didn't want to get involved." But he said he gradually began to change his mind when he saw his own involvement and credibility challenged, starting with Lanny Davis on CNN's "Crossfire" Aug. 12.

Thanks Lanny, you helped convince another Vet to come out against Kerry. Keep bringing it on!

Krauthammers column today explains a large part of Chrissy's behavior over the past two weeks. I'm probably going to flip to MSNBC from time to time during the RNC Convention just to watch him rant and rave like a lunatic.

I also want to see how Howie Finerman acts next week, given the uproar of him daring to speak ill of Chrissy's hissy fits disguised as political reporting and analysis.

It's easy to grin, when your ship has come in,
and you have the stock market beat.
But the man worthwhile
is the man who can smile
when his pants are too tight in the seat!

I think max clellan ought to be in the list somewhere for allowing his disabilities to be taken advantage of for political purposes.

Max is a big boy....he didnt allow his disability to be taken advantage of...he took advantage of his own disability for his own political ends...he was a willing participant 100% responsible for his actions....he too sold out the POW MIAs....along with Kerry

Max got back on camera....on national tv.....he wants a comeback....you can bet Kerry promised him one....however Kerry's word doesn't seem to be something a person can actually count on...

Except to be generally false...

imo
