John Kerry placed in the Congressional Record on January 28, 1998 the eulogy he gave (apparently) at the funeral of a former swiftboat companion. He describes what could be an entirely different version of the Rassmann falling in the river/mine exploding story.
I don't think Kerry has ever told the same tale twice. If you don't tell the truth consistently, it's hard to keep track of the lies.
so this story has three of our completely different stories rolled into one...

This guy Kerry can't keep his lies straight. He needs lessons from WJC, the master liar.
One thing I've learned in my 35 years of sailing starboard is to the right. If you are on the right side of a river it's not a good idea to make a high speed right hand turn.

A starboard turn during that incident would have landed them directly on shore... see WaPo's graphic of the incident...
