You know, the press actually asked some pretty good questions. Thanks in part to the Bush camp having a letter of their own for Monsieur Kerry.
One question, when Cleland invoked "John McCain", was why Cleland thought McCain had said nothing further and had continued to campaign with President Bush.
As I noted up thread, Cleland could only sputter some nonsensical reply.
Cleland, whether we agree with his current politics or not, is a genuine war hero. You can SEE his 'three purple hearts'; right arm, both legs. Kerry is just hoping for scars by association.

why do people assume he is a genuine war hero just because he lost 3 limbs???
he has said he probably dropped one of his own grenades while jumping out of a chopper....and walked over and picked it up after the chopper left, and it blew off 3 of his limbs....
we had some guys that did some stupid things, even called one of them 'tard boy......if i saw he was now a senator and war hero because he blew off a couple of limbs on his way to drink beer with some buddies, i'm not sure how that would go over.
Cleland and the Dims are always claiming that we attacked his patriotism when he got voted out in GA. 'How dare they question the patriotism of a triple amputee!' they screamed. Well guess what? We NEVER questioned Cleland's patriotism. That's another Dim lie. We NEVER made fun of his war sacrifice. We just wanted Saxby Chambliss in there. While a wheelchair is nothing to poke fun at, neither is it a shield from politics. Cleland lost. Gore lost. They need to MOVE ON.
