Only One Network Morning News Interview with a Swift Boat Veteran for Truth since the Campaign Launch on May 4, 2004

ALEXANDRIA, Va. --- At a Washington D.C. press conference held on May 4, 2004, the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth revealed their concerns regarding Senator Kerry’s Vietnam service. It took until today --over 100 days later-- for any network morning news program to interview in studio a single one of the Swift Boat Vets for Truth.

“The swift boat story has evolved into one of the biggest political stories of the year, and the fact that the network morning shows have deliberately censored these vets is outrageous,” said MRC President Brent Bozell. “The reality that it took the network morning news programs 100 days to put a member of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth on the air is not only bad journalism, but pure liberal bias.”

And the August 24th interview conducted by Harry Smith of CBS’s Early Show with Swift Boat Vet John O’Neill was anything but fair and balanced. Instead Smith repeatedly berated, interrupted and attacked O’Neill’s claims on air.

“Not only are the liberal media undeniably hostile to the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, they are uninterested in probing Kerry’s Vietnam record for themselves,” said Brent Bozell. “The networks are proving their liberal bias by deliberately refusing to cover the news if it doesn’t fit their agenda.”

But something happened on May 4 that drowned out the SBVfT. Can you remember?

They would rather burn their own house down than face the truth about themselves.

Not in business as America understands business to be. But giving us the business as they wish business to be.

Same thing that is trying to drown it out today: Abu Graib "Bremer Warned in Nov. of Prison Abuse"

It's even worse when we have E.D. Hill, Reilly and Boortz selling s out as well, what's wrong with these people we should be able to count on them. Thank god for Hannity, Rush and others.

Newsfolks want to keep the election close -- a runaway is bad for ratings. Rush, Hannity, etc. have loyal followings that will keep their numbers up, but the 'newsies' need to keep it interesting.

That's a mind-bender. I hate conspiritorial thinking, but news.Google has been ignoring the SWIFTIES as long as the NYTimes did, now they have NOTHING but negative editorials on their blurbs for it. The other main thing today? Abu Graib.

In all my days I have never seen the media behave so unprofessional as they are at this exact moment.

The (Swift boat vets for) Truth will set us free.

Well, I hope so. Bozell has really been on their case. Limbaugh, Hannity and a few others like WND.

I think I understood what you meant, and if so, you are wrong about this.

The media generally regards Kerry as their man and are blatently allowing their personal wants to control their reporting and even color what they do write.

It is blatent, unashammed and documented by the watchdog groups. They have all stated that they have NEVER seen it to this extent.

The (Swift boat vets for) Truth will set us free.

Most politicians disgust me, no matter their party. They get to Washington, become members of the Ruling Class, and remaining a member becomes their #1 priority at all times in all matters. For that reason, I rarely donate to political candidates.

I did, however, just donate to the Swift Vets and I encourage everyone who can to do so. This issue has turned into something far more important than this presidential election. This is the first movement I've EVER seen that is actually having some success at circumventing the Protective Net the media keep around liberals at all costs.

This issue is now about TRUTH. The liberal media have ALWAYS suppressed it in the past. Make no mistake about it: The media ARE our #1 practical enemy, the single element of our society that most enables the evil of liberalism to daily strengthen its stranglehold on our nation. The Swift Vet campaign is the first thing EVER to seriously challenge it, and we all need to support it. It's not a donation for a politician. It's a donation for a glimmer of hope in the quest for TRUTH.

Used to think that too ... a long time ago in a galaxy far far away. Having lived thru Clinton, and now having re-examined mine own remembrances of news anchors, analysts and reporters reporting in all the popular media, the sad upshot is that it was ever a mockery, a rookery of mockers the media e'er was and continues. Naught, naught and zilch to do with a balanced race for the sake of interesting and marketable stories!

Just plain cussed-ness, rebellion and scoffing.

The need to wax, to swell-up, to puff up potent, viagra-fied, materially important by making the other guy -- us, the public -- small and confused, and by comparative light and shadow the media personalities and byliners feel mighty, godlike, full of self-pride.

Thank G-d for the Internet! It has pulled the wool away from the publics eyes -- and for more than just porn.

Agreed. The media is throwing the game, in the fashion of the referees in the US/USSR basketball game all those years ago. No one, even Kerry supporters, that I talk to, thinks the media is fair, professional, or anything relatively close to being objective. And that is saying something, especially for the Kerrorists.

The problem is, once they lose us, they lose us for good. A reputation, once lost, is extremely difficult to regain.
