If we can have North and South Dakota and Carolina, why can't we have several Texases?

If there is ever statehood for Puerto Rico or some other regions, we will get over our "50 states/100 senators" fixation.

Washington, D.C. keeps seeking statehood (as asinine as "living" at City Hall).

I could see splitting California into 2 states as well.
